My mate came across this and let me know as he he knows how much I like SD1's.

However I think it could be a bit too far gone.

He has purchased another car from the owner - he is finding out how much he wants for it - it is a v8 on an R plate.

Shame! Good vintage and good colour, with the best engine.

There can't be much left even worth having for spares though?

It looks a bit shit.

I noticed the bottom of the scuttle has completely gone.

When that panel and the bulkhead have issues it's time you looked for something else.

Even the A post looks like it's there in spirit only! I bet if you touched it, it would turn to dust!

The whole car would probably disintegrate if you tried moving it.

I suggested to my mate that a dyson would be preferable to a low loader.

Is it just me or does it look like it's actually collapsed along the bulkhead?

Probably the weight of water in the footwells.

April Fools, that's a picture from the Rover PDI line.

I think it's been about 25 years since those footwells would have held any water.

The sad thing is it was probably in running condition when it arrived in its last resting place ?

That's clearly an Austin, it says so on its grille.

And there is an Allegro next to it.  :-(

Why people leave cars to die like this I will never know. Its not like it will age well like a bottle of red wine is it!?

IT WILL RUST AND DISINTEGRATE IF YOU JUST LEAVE IT THERE FOR YEARS. !Shock!

Knowing nothing about engines beyond the principle of 'suck, squeeze, bang, blow', would it be theoretically possible to recover the engine, refurb and get it running?  Just curious if it is possible, this does assume the engine is not seized.

I always think up new projects, things to do but none of them ever happen.
