Forty-two Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Apologies if posted before, but is this one of us??? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-gloucestershire-33608816
oldcars Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Total leg end. Using a MK2 Kia Shuma as a towcar. Guy needs a medal. Looking again he appears to have cut the roof out of the Shuma
meshking Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I just popped in here to post just that story. Excellent work, no fifth wheel? no worries!
JohnK Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 That's the pic Trigger posted on Facebook which shows the full extent. Not only is the van strapped to the Kia, the Kia is A-framed to the Passat. richardmorris, wuvvum, CGSB and 8 others 11
phil_lihp Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I can't imagine the Passat's clutch will have enjoyed pulling that little lot through traffic - although it was probably worse on an open road, must have been like having two large tails wagging one dog.
Forty-two Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 So there was an A frame! Pah. Need to amend the title of the thread...
NorfolkNWeigh Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 They only caught them because the rope snapped between the Passat and the Transit and the 14 year old driver couldn't hear his 30 year old grandad shouting him because of the noise from the tyres rubbing in the arches due to th 6 tons of stolen copper cable in the back. stuboy and meshking 2
oldcars Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Shame he's bridging the Shuma could have had a few bits
KruJoe Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I bet he was running on cherry / kero, or some other oily mixture of indeterminable origin
KruJoe Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 SRSLY though, folks like that will get us 'framers a bad name. Fair play for having a go, but not through a town centre with rozzers about. We'll all be banned from using them for good. I said as soon as I saw the pic, that rig needs to bend in the middle and it won't (or not without chafing through the blue strap). CGSB 1
trigger Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Just to clarify, I didn't take the photo, it popped up in my newsfeed and i shared the photo onto another site who then credited it to me!. Apparently it happened just outside the scrapyard. If you think that's impressive last week i saw a Daihatsu Fourtrak with a trailer on the back with another Fourtrack on it, attached to that trailer was another trailer full of hay bales and on the back that trailer was a small garden trailer! I'm gutted that i wasn't able to get a photo. KruJoe 1
HH-R Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Fuck me. Funny though. Is there any other forum in the world upset over the loss of a Kia Shuma? That's why I love this place.
autofive Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 FOR SALEPassat STUNNING IMMACULATE, needs clutch michael1703 1
richardmorris Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 When I first saw the pic I assumed that the blue Passat was the fuzz and had pulled over in front to stop the hilarious weigh-bridge antics. I am even more amazed it was a three vehicle parade. I saw it on the Surrey road cops Twitter, which is often full of hilarity.
garbaldy Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I've told the story before about the chap who collected my Passat with an Aframe he also had a second in the boot as he was collecting another car on the journey down south,When I told him that cant be legal his reply was in this country fine but in Poland jail, people do strange things.
