Cars I'd Like To Own But Would Feel A Tit Driving

Recommended Posts

There are a few cars on my must own list that I would love to try but am stopped because I would feel a proper tit driving. Like one of the yummy mummys at work who has three kids but wont entertain a Berlingo because in her words "its a spacker waggon" so drives an Evoke HPI'd up to the eyeballs.

I'll kick off with my list of cars I want, but would need a paper bag on my head to drive...

Reliant Regal / Robin estate

I love the look of these, but just cant bring myself to drive.

BINI

Im really torn with these, I like them, but Im not an estate agent and everyone will think I am, or that Im a twat. Or both.

Same goes for the NuBeetle

Like em, but would need to wear a dress and big floppy hat whilst driving one.

Vaux Tigra

Love these, really do, but again its a girls car. Perhaps when my daughter learns to drive...

Anything you like but cant beat the social stigma of owning?

I used to feel a tit driving my Zephyr 6 with its bench seat. Girlfriend got fed up with me doing it after a while though....

Any soft top, nothing sadder than a balding head in a soft top. I've got a Healey 3000 in my possession until Wednesday and the sun is shining, but I can't be arsed

i think you should just get a 3-pin plug (or do you call it a plastic pig?) and just enjoy the 3 wheeled silliness of it all and bollocks to whatever the neighbours think!

the saddest thing of all as pointed out above is some convertible german aldi or similar thing been driven by a fat balding twat.

nothing screams that the driver has a teeny-weeny-whinky than something like that.

As I don't care what anyone else thinks about what I drive, nothing that I like would embarass me if I were behind the wheel :)

Anything in bright pink, I can drive shite, but never Barbie coloured shite.

When ever I see a male driving a BMW that is around 10 years old, I can't help but think he's only doing it because he can't afford a new one.

Also mk1 Tigra - the only thing stopping me from buying one is the hairdresser connection, I think they're really nice looking. I'd also love to put a 300 bhp Saab engine in one, that'd be a hoot.

Reliant three wheelers don't embarrass me, having had them since 1973.  Generally I don't care what other people think, but I secretly like the Suzuki X90 yet am so aware that it's a silly car driven by hairdressers that I have yet to  dare to drive one.

X90 doesnt embarrass me, just lack of rear seats means I would have to stash kids in the boot like some sort of 21stC Richard Helpmann

I think that applies to most owners of most 10 year old cars.

I'm incredibly ashamed about this, but I'd like an L405 Range Rover. A black one with tinted windows.

Fortunately I'm never going to be affluent enough to look that much of a prick.

Would enjoy pretending to be 007 but would just look like a self conscious middle aged quack.

you forgot the 40 inch hippty-hopperty-crap-singer-or-drug-dealer wheels.

only then would you look like a complete and total prick in a new range rover.

Fancied one of these for a while now (yes I like motoring extremes), would feel like a proper old cunt pottering about in it.

I've already had a new beetle and a smart roadster plus a white golf cabriolet with white interior and now a Z3 and I can borrow a Bini if I need and had a Smart For-Two car as a long term loaner.

The only thing worse is if the smart car could of been Barbie Pink or I was condemned to drive this..post-9282-0-60662300-1434578745_thumb.jpg

But I've had decent butch cars as well such as a beige Austin Ambassador and a poo brown Allegro so my car history hasn't always been bad.

But I want to have a cheap TT cabriolet or an old Boxster sometime in the future but if I do I wouldn't be able to put the roof down just like when I'm driving the Z3..

Or I wouldn't mind trying a smart cross blade obviously on a nice sunny day only..

Continuing in an extreme vein, I'd give one of these little fookahs a good seeing too. Look like an impoverished hairdresser though.

This may be controversial, however...

Not so much looking a tit - that I can deal with, as a fat balding bloke with bad taste in shirts it never bothered me to be seen squeezing in a K11.

I could drive a Lotus, lovely, even a BMW (had a 3 series 20 years ago), but I dunno if I could drive a plastic pig, yet I could (and have) driven a Bond.

There is no rationalle.

Funny thing I saw one identical yesterday in Bexhill for sale..
