Live collection something small and french

I'm going to pick up a car.

It's blue, its French and it's in Essex (uncharted territory for me).

I'm currently on a Chiltern Mainline Mark 3 on the way to Marylebone.

I'm not sure what's propelling us either a class 67 or 68!

I can't see how to add pictures from my phone so you'll have to imagine the scene!

This is the first unexciting photo. I'll get more!

Haha we aren't there yet.

At Liverpool Street on what feels like a rather grotty class 321 emu towards Wickford.

That's Marylebone and the new class 68 which took us from Stourbridge

Here are some photos. It's been a long day but fun.

There are a couple of issues the car feels a little hesitant especially cruising and the fan comes on sometimes almost as soon as I have pulled up.

Does drive well and is comfortable. Like it so far.

It's a nice colour and there aren't many early ones of these left apparently.

Ah you bastard, that hunny lived in Wickford? I would of loved to pap that but now you've stolen it and taken up north!

I must of almost passed you this morning, I was on the train to Liverpool St via Wickford at around 11am.

That's a beauty.  My 205 automatic has what looks like the same engine (1.6) and the fan usually comes on quite soon after parking. Keep an eye on the coolant level until you trust it, and make sure that the contents of the expansion bottle are not being vigourously gassed, then relax and enjoy :-) .

Sorry lol I wonder if it has ever been this far north.

It was in the Wickford area I'll check the address later. The guy I bought it of (the owners Grandson) lives in Latchingdon. I think recently it was only used for going to the shops and has been off the road for six months.

You probably did pass me, we were on the 11:35 from Liverpool Street.

Spectacular! And with a rev counter as well...

Yes it is the GR model which came with such luxuries. Five gears, a sunroof and a rev counter are something I have not known for some time! It's a pity the guy when he bought it didn't specify the optional central locking but maybe I am just being greedy!

Okay thanks maybe it is something common with these then. It doesn't seem to overheat, the temperature gauge pretty much sat halfway and the fan would cut out again after a short period. I have noticed though that the temperature gauge doesn't go to the end of the gauge when you switch the engine off but to the quarter mark.

I will certainly be keeping an eye on the coolant.

Very nice. Who's stolen the small dash panel that said 309?!

I have the panels in the car, there are two missing. The clips at the bottom are broken so it won't stay back in place.

I will see if someone has some blue ones for sale (probably unlikely) if not I will try using double sided tape or something to hold them in place.

The digital clock does work.

I am going to my old skool scrappy next week,so if you think on,take a pic of what is missing and i will have a look if they have them. Then i will shove them in my pocket for you

I had a colleague with one just like that. He unfortunately rolled it into a ditch a couple of weeks after he bought it.

To our amazement it reappeared about 3 weeks later kicked straight and with a suspicious vinyl roof kit fitted.

It was probably only 5 years old at the time :-)
