A strange orangey yellow ball hangs in the sky above the township of Barrhead... my transport awaits.

Now at Annandale Water as the hen party need to pee. I envisage stops at every second services between here and Liverpool.

The bus is telling me I have a bulb out but I can't find it. Plus side is the limiter is inoperative so it'll sit at 70*.

Are you sure it's not one of the hen party who's got their bulbs out?

(sorry)

We demand pictures of the quality cargo you have. Or more of the bus, which is probably more attractive..

I have the luxury of piloting a 813d today, is it 5 or 6 speed I always find the 5 speeds quicker.

Hang on - this is a collection thread, yes?

So are you planning to A-frame the McVolvo back behind the bus?? Or get one of the pissed hens to drive it back for you???

5-speed 614D; my mate Val has a 24-seater 813D auto which is fucking miserable.

Bus is staying in Liverpool til Sunday; I drop the bus, pick up the car, then get a lift back down on Sunday with another coach we have going to Liverpool. Means I get paid to collect my own car :)

Parked in Liverpool. About to be unparked as I've not got enough change for the machine. FML

Surprisingly similar school of design between your two conveyances.  Possible offensive numberplate too, clearly* a reference to OJ Simpson.

Doesn't look too shabby that. Makes me regret the fact I've secured a sale on my 740!

It's home after an uneventful trip!

It has a good number of issues which I'd expect from a 28-year old Volvo, but the rate it chomps through fuel is fucking astounding; speedo doesn't work but I reckon it's doing about 19mpg on the motorway by my rough distance/dino calculations. The Council Estate is completely fucked and it manages 32mpg on a run driven like it's on fire.

Took SWMBO to work this morning and I am now at the workshop having placed the redblock redbrick over the inspection pit... no great surprises actually, though the welding it required for MOT has actually seen the garage plate over two drain holes in the chassis legs so I need to break out the drill again. Most of the rest of it is in urgent requirement of a wire brush and fresh underseal. It's also overboosting like buggery though to an extent the 99RON which is now in the tank has alleviated matters considerably. It runs like a complete pig from cold and the starter seems pretty lazy, though I think I have a starter in stock somewhere. Also wish I had kept the front seats from the other 760 I broke now as the passenger seat is absolutely shagged.

All in all I have few complaints... it's no worse than I expected, if anything it's better. Going to go give it a bath now and go back to bed for a bit.

I'm glad it's not too bad 'over the pit'. I still think it runs too rich which might explain the dreadful mpg.
