A few I missed there by arriving late, Alfa and yellow Volvo in particular.

Great to meet you yesterday and have a chat with some like minded people.

Didn't even realise you were going! I would have looked out for you otherwise.

I take offence at the inaccurate representation of my E36 above. That looks far too shiny to be my car.

I also realise what a prime lens can do now. Those photos are sharp.

Looks another great meet, well done 👍. Can't be bad if you're needing a bigger venue!

I need to attend and meet the Scottish massive. I want the 300c back first. Five or six hours in a 107 doesn't really appeal.

Took the Cortina along to my usual place for some mot prep, the weather is far too nice at the moment to be pissing around changing sumps so I've opted for someone else doing the work and whatever else it might need.

It started straight away and drove 5 miles without losing any oil or any other major issues.

Also sitting at the garage was that barried 505 gti I almost bought.

That looks dreadful but strangely appealing at the same time.

It's the headlights that ruin it for me, the rest of it is forgivable. The 505 has one of the most interesting headlight designs, and they got rid of them for shitty rectangles?

I think the headlights are from a fiat 127, still look gash though. The owner has the original headlights but has chosen to keep the fiat ones for some reason.

Can I ask photo/camera details for this? Looks to be a large aperture, but a bright day. Nice shots.

Nikon d300 with 35mm prime lens.

I really quite like this lens for its depth of field.

Iso settings were low.

First decent outing this year on the old 2 strokes, went up to Kinross and along to Knockhill and back. I also bought a drone so spent a bit of time pissing around with that.

That 505 looked better when Slater first built it:

The only time that car looked good was before it had any of the daft modifications. Those wide arches look totally wank.

I kind of agree, silly as it is. Plus I know I’d rip the rear wheels off it misjudging gaps.

Mind you THAT fairing also gives me the horn

We bought a drone so have been pissing about making videos with it.

I went and fetched Ged's 305 with the 504. My knob fell off on the way there so made changing gear interesting.

With the 305 now back at the unit there's a small chance some work might be done on it.

Which Drone did you buy? Looking for one to fly over old quarries near where I live…..

I bought a DJI mini se "fly more combo" from Argos for £360. It comes with a couple of extra batteries and charging dock which are much needed as battery life isn't amazing.

I bought a towbar mounted bike rack last weekend.

There didn't seem to be a good area to hook the ratchet straps onto so I made some hooks and welded them on.

Can you ride a moped and fly a drone at the same time? Let's find out!

Isn't that how Tarantino got started?

Loving the 505......... what are they like to drive? Long journeys comfy or noisy/rattly type of impression? I've actually never mananged to be in one ever....

I have a distinct aversion to Cortinas after many freezing nights doing rear arm bushes on the bastards but your estate is a corker!

Decided that seeing as nobody was interested in buying the 305 I would just keep hold of it and do some "improvements"...

The rear bumper was full of rust and holes so I put my metal folder to good use and made another one. Still needs some minor adjustments but happy enough with how it turned out.

Yeah Cortina were terrible for destroying rear axle bushes back in the day. Fortunately a modern solution exists. Fit polybushes once and forget 😀

you can't fix the void bushes too much or you'll lose the tinacorner "waddle" 🤣

Wasn’t the hot mod fitting the estate “heavy duty” void bushes on all them them?
