RetroShite Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Hilux had some welding around the rear arches! Picked up a Daihatsu Fourtrak, its tidy enough but handles terribly on those massive tyres. Also picked up this beige beauty! It's decent enough, just a shame about the crappy minilite alloys and racing steering wheel. Tickman, yes oui si, tooSavvy and 6 others 9

Schaefft Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Just now, dome said: Are they rwd or fwd? AE92 are fwd which is the reason they aren't nearly as popular. dome 1

RetroShite Posted December 13 Posted December 13 Hilux's much like buses, wait for 1 and 3 come along at the same time. 2 red red and 1 green 4x4. Some more progress on the brown w123, this sides welding is pretty much finished. Some more tat picked up recently including the forum bike td cavalier. Also picked up a little R tech inverter welder so invested in a spool gun to try some alloy welding. mk2_craig, wesacosa, Split_Pin and 6 others 9
Dick Cheeseburger Posted December 13 Posted December 13 That 505 is looking better than it has in years. goosey and Volksy 2
yes oui si Posted December 13 Posted December 13 It needs to lose the bolt-on arches and chin spoiler and be back on 13s... I'd settle for 15" slot mags and 195/45s though.

It's quite noisy, messy and spattery but it seems to work. I went for 1mm and 0.8mm wire but have only tried the 1mm on some alloy which had already been welded. I need to get some material to play with and figure out what works best. warninglight 1
warninglight Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Cheers! Next year I want to make a dropside bed for the laplander. Might just stick with steel for simplicity this time.
sutty2006 Posted December 14 Posted December 14 I may have accidentally bought tickets for two upcoming Vauxhalls with this months pocket money 😲🤣🤣
RetroShite Posted December 21 Posted December 21 eBay wins are getting out of hand. one week it's a Daewoo Espero the next is a BMW e23 728... Shite Ron, wesacosa, Schaefft and 3 others 6
RetroShite Posted December 21 Posted December 21 People seem to be losing their shit about the 505 Gti, it was a popular car last time around in April 2023 but there seems to be even more want for it now! I'm not a fan of the styling but I'm not keeping it so it'll be staying like this. I removed the massive wheel spacers from the Fourtrak and now it looks just right! I picked up a cheap C50 which actually seems to ride quite well. Scruffy Bodger, mk2_craig, rustdevil and 3 others 6
RetroShite Posted Sunday at 09:05 Posted Sunday at 09:05 Some progress made on the brown w123, welding complete and some paint chucked at it! Rustybullethole, adw1977, Wibble and 12 others 15

RetroShite Posted Tuesday at 22:05 Posted Tuesday at 22:05 After a short drive on Sunday it was clear there was something up with the BMW, turns out the spring cup had partially collapsed and was rubbing on the tyre. Fixed it in situ by compressing the spring, used a bottle jack to return it to the correct position then welded fuck out of it. I'd been dreading trying to sort it but it was actually quite easy in the end. Split_Pin, adw1977, Shite Ron and 8 others 11
RetroShite Posted Wednesday at 13:28 Posted Wednesday at 13:28 A couple more on for January's line up! Split_Pin, yes oui si, Schaefft and 2 others 5
