Is that really the best sales slogan they could think up ?

"exciting" is a bit strong in the wording department too.  However, it's proof that the house you have purchased was owned by a person of style and distinction and that is very difficult to find nowadays.

The person whos house it was obviously had taste, that's a good find

"this is quite outstanding motor car"

Sounds like a bad Chinese translation! Good old BL attention to detail ;)

I had an HLS back in the 1980's... It was better than average to be fair. Comfortable seats, metallic blue paintwork etc. a lovely wafty car. Right up to when the automatic transmission fluid somehow ended up spraying over the exhaust manifold and the car went up in flames. Was only a few years old.

I find myself getting a serious horn for the 18/22 Wedge. I've even joined the Princess club forum.

Great brochure - I had that one in 1982, nicked from a car in the BL dealer in Taunton.

do it do it do it.

But don't come crying to me when a displacer fails or you find rot galloping all around the bottom of the car because TADTS.

Alas Herr Lour, no room at the inn. :-(

Not sure which I'd choose but I suspect an Ohhhh Series model would be best. A V plate Denim blue 1700HL like  Cardinal Bluejeans had 32 years ago would be a wet dream frankly.

How did you get past the dog to get that picture of my living room?

I liked the two Princesses I had and I'd certainly have another, except the survivors are built of pure unobtanium and priced accordingly; even rotten projects, which I wouldn't be able to take on, are touching cloth.  But at least I can say I've been there, not just once but twice, and enjoyed the experience.

I drove the monumentally horrible one that Philibusmo bought off Vulgalour just before it was sold on eBay.  Terrible cosmetics aside, as my first ever BL motoring experience it was quite comically appalling (manually flashed indicators, headlining shedding bits all over the driver, interior trim coming apart) but to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by the way it drove.  The 2.0 O-Series was responsive and pulled well (if a bit loud with what amounted to a straight-through exhaust) and it ran well, the ride was smooth, the seats were comfortable and it handled pretty well.  I've driven much worse cars and a lot of its cosmetic issues were down to its long years spent in storage.

I've had two of them, they're fine, although bits are getting hard to find now. If you can find one a 2 litre is a better bet than the 1.7 which can struggle. I always found them a fantastic motorway cruiser, especially HLS models with fold down front seat armrests

My late mother had a Princess for a few months of 1985 after her Chrysler Alpine was written off...she hated it.

It was a 2200. She couldn't get on with the POWAH or the ridiculously light steering. She used to say she had to hang on for dear life or it would end up all over the road at the slightest twitch...So my Dad gave her his Saab 99 EMS and he P/Xed the Princess for an X reg SD1 2000 for himself...

Of my Parents cars, that Princess is the only car I don't know the age of or the reg number. Probably because I thought it was shit. All I remember was it blue with a black vinyl roof...

Funniest I ever read was in the Morris Ital Handbook...'although your Morris Ital has been constructed to high standards, it will require timely maintenance...'

Too powerful with scarily light steering?  AHEAD OF THE CURVE, MAN!
