Posting Alloys - Who's best?

I'm looking at getting a set of four 13 inch alloys for the Swift but the seller is in Sheffield so I can't realistically collect them. Anyone here able to make any recommendation as to who would be the best courier for alloys from previous experience?

Parcel2go.com

I find anyone cheap is good enough for me

£30.95 for four wheels and tyres up to 17 inch here: www.directcouriersolutions.co.uk

I used them to get two 17 inch motorbike wheels with tyres from the seller in Wakefield to me in Essex. Very good overnight service, all for £19.95 and no hassle. Highly recommended.

It's looking like £30 is about the lowest I'll be able to go. I've stuck up a quote request on Shiply just to see what comes up and the first bid... £126!

How heavy are they? £12.50 to send a 30kg parcel less than1.2m in length. You must be able to get two or three wheels for that if tyre less.

Or £7.15 for 20 kg x 2

I honestly don't know how they do it. I just sent a 25kg parcel to Germany 2 day service for less than twenty quid!

I use Direct Courier solutions too.

I found that while Parcel2go will quote you, the companies that they direct you to usually have a "no car parts" policy. Which has caught me out once.

Must have been lucky then as I have only ever sent car parts and wheels with p2g

Any tyres?

The cheapest I have ever sent wheels, was x5 13x7 Superlites, sans tyres, by stacking on top of each other and making a 'tube'.

That cost about 17 quid and was via P2G.

I use Paisley for wheels, regularly.

Never yet given me a problem , always delivered undamaged ( even when unprotected) on the day stated, but they keep shifting Companies, which is a little disconcerting.

I've used paisley a few times, service was pretty good but the tracking didn't work for me. wasn't a problem as the buyer emailed me when they arrived. £30 for a set of 4 I think.
