After my trip to Sweden, my next destination in next month of few is Poland. This time, I'm thinking about flying only one way and trying to drive back in something nice.

So I started looking for some available automobiles and here is a selection.

Which one would you choose?

If I don't find anything for me, I would be happy to bring something back for fellow shiters

Clamp the 126 upside down to the Caprice with its roofrack and bring them both back.

That Tarpan is ACE.

It's like the product of drunken sex between a Series 1 Range Rover and a Sherpa van.

Too right! I was going to say RR1 and some BL prototype which never saw the light but yes, Sherpa. I wouldn't be at all surprised if spying and/or collaboration between The Midlands and Poland resulted in this.

Mrs_Rusty is Polish and I'm always tempted to 'Ryanair it' over there and drive something back.

To be fair, as a Country, I'd say they're only just starting to have cars as toys.  Most stuff that we would call classics would still be everyday vehicles to some folk over there- and would be absolutely essential transport.

However, things are changing and the younger generations are becoming more used to disposable income, hence the emerging collectors car market.

Mind you, I reckon you could drive something like a Mk4 Astra over there and easily swap it for something that we would consider a classic, especially in more rural areas.

It's an amazing place.  The locals have always been friendly and welcoming to me (a capitalist pig that can't understand a word of Polish :) ) and I wouldn't hesitate to explore the place!

I bought my Wartburg 311 from Poland and drove it back. Changed the engine for a later, bigger one but that was it.

Now there's a thought for the Cannock Auction Massiv...

I'm going to Poland next month too; clearly, it's fast becoming the 'shiters Monaco.  When I was there last time though (Poznan), I was disappointed by the lack of shite - apart from one mega-tatty Polonez, it was mostly recent Euroboxes (and a surprising amount of wanker chariot SUVs).

I hadn't considered driving back in something - 1000+ miles in a Polonez is certainly a more dignified way to travel than a Ryanair 737.

I'm also hoping to hit Poland in a month, been going for about 7 years and have noticed the interesting stuff go from commonplace to rare, always see a stream of used German stuff being trailered in to spoil things, damned fit totty there also, but like cars much bloated horrors appearing, all tattoo and scowls. Probably best to strike the candy store soonish, decadence is rapidly creeping in, they'll soon be just as Maccy D / JD Sports innit as us and start banger racing.

That'll be all the British then.

Is that a Fiat 125 above or another variety of Lady?

I went over on the bike a few years back and saw nothing but streams of German accident damaged stuff flooding in, and streams of empty car transporters flooding out. Jut over the border were fields and fields full of BMW,Audi and Jeep. Saw nothing at all of interest, apart from a few FSM 126's. I was sorely disspointed :(

I have just returned from my first visit to Poland, absolutely loved the place, the people were lovely, and the Taxi Drivers completely mental! 90 KPH through the centre of Krakow in a clapped out Renault Espace! It had it all! I must admit it did cross my mind to drive back in something shite, lucky for my the missus is very sensible and dragged me back onto the Ryanair air bourn cattle cart.

No, I'll think you'll find that was the Discovery.

I drove Edd's Polonez CE around Malham in 2013 and it was easily the most comfortable car I've ever driven, and I have stupidly long legs and a bad back.

MR87-series Polonez, ideally in red or white for me plz.
