Excuse my manners, forgot to thank the person (Joe?) who kindly took the motorbike stand to Devils Bridge for me. Much appreciated, cheers.

I'd like to thank all of you! </vom inducing speech>

Seriously though, it's the people that make these events. Every Autoshite meet I've ever been to has been a pleasure, right back to Stondon however many years ago. Long may it continue.

Did you sort heater out on your motor Will?

No I haven't managed to sort the heater. I'll chop off whoevers fingers it was who turned it off!

Not to worry too much, I've done over 500 miles towing the trailer and veg since Shitefest and it hasn't started blowing steam so I think we should be okay without the extra cooling it provided. Best get the radiator upgraded!

It was playing up when I was in yah motah- so no me:)

It started making some horrendous noises when I took Adrian a run so I did the off and on again trick. Seemed to fix it and I was immediately toasted again. I initally thought it was a wheel bearing but it was the blower so you might want to keep an eye on it or has it died completely?

You could notice the sound of the heater blower amongst the other noises?

You werent driving it hard enough...

It was the fan speed relay thing, it just wants a bridge of wire fitting, he needs it running full power to aid cooling.

Aye, 'twas me Billy. No probs at all, I had the space. It was for Phil_2_smoke, and served as an adjustable cooking plinth for the rest of the weekend :)

Nice to have a quick catch-up with you in Llllangollllen too mate. Big thanks for not selling me another lovely Rover! Also I forgot to tell you that the CAVCRAFT sourced Astra Auto continues to provide sterling service for 'Auntie Anne'. It's all good.

Was a great weekend, thanks to all who let me drive their cars, in particular Slizzer and Semi C who helped me tick another couple off the 'must drive' list. Surprise was how good SkattRD's Honda Accord was (when it started), felt like a two year old car rather than one pushing thirty.

Stondon sale is tomorrow and I have the day off, so may be attending.

I was too busy holding on and laughing my cock off at how quick it was.

Same tbh, was a fucking scary but ace run down the hill as passenger!

I've got reasonable hearing that has been recently improved with a can of Ear Jet Wash for a pre-employment medical. So aye, I could hear it but when it went funny it started screeching like a bad wheel bearing or down-to-the-metal brakes. Quick reset and it was fine again. Bus driver standard practise - we get it all the time on alarmingly new motors.

I didn't have to laugh my cock off. It exploded every time I pressed the accelerator.

Don't worry about it David, it was making a funny noise the day before.

I have to rip the dash out to fix the speedo and a few bulbs anyway so at least it can all be done at once!

^^ Sam was the only one daring enough for a passenger ride

Sorry I missed your posts about the punctures Sam, I would have been more then willing to donate my spare tyre for your journey home had I been keeping an eye on proceedings. After I left Devils Bridge at 4.30 all I wanted to do was get the veg delivered to Red5 in Worcestershire and then get home so I missed it all.

I must admit I did bottle out with that 205. It had so much more to give but ultimately I didn't want to break/crash/look like a cunt in somebody else's car.

I did enjoy smoking the cyclists out on the way up the hill though and getting the look of death on the way back down...

Ah no bother, it wasnt so bad reading 1996 car magazines eating biscuits in the end!

I am pretty pieved I missed this - probably the first year i've had no viable runners. I was soo tempted to take the L300 even got the ok from her indoors but as usual i didnt make that step into the unknown. Even more pieved given how many shisubishis were there, probably would have had a heart attack when I saw that Starion so probably for the best!!!

I think we are reading from the same hymn sheet  - As they say, NO SMOKE, NO POKE

That's a tractor puller saying that is , as well as "full black stack"

:-D

I've just emailed the museum to say thanks as well, so glad to hear they'd consider having us back! I'm probably popping over there on Friday so if there is anything anyone regrets not buying, I might be able to oblige. (Assuming I go in a car and not a pushbike...)

What amused me was your comment of 'remember the smoke' and my initial reaction was a quick look in the rear view mirror to see a moderate amount of smoke, quickly followed by a clog of the accelerator and them disappear in a cloud.

What week does that happen? If it falls in the free week of my holidays I might make an appearance.

Variable!

But always* promoted widely on here...

If the disciplinary appeal hearing I've got tomorrow is as swift as I suspect it will be, I may see you there...

I can confirm it is:)

Reckon a xsara with it could be quite the sleeper- get on it!;)

Posted

Well mine is nippy as it is and handles well. I wonder what the 160bhp vts goes like? Would like a diesel. Something like an old berlingo or peugeot partner with a few tweaks could be a sleeper!

Posted

Ill get mine empty next year and you can take it out for a spin.

Then i might get will to tweak it slightly and we can take it out again!

Would have taken me all day to empty then repack ot, and i didnt fancy spanking it up the hill a few times full!

I'm game for that. Remind me nearer the time and I will bring the appropriate tools and the car ramps :)
