Shitefest 2015 5-7th June

SWMBO has apparantly purchased me a new sleeping bag.

Which is awesome as I need a matress rather than a sleeping bag...

I have an air bed if you want to borrow it? Was going to use it, but then realised I had nowhere to plug it in (240v) so have an old double duvet to go on the car seat.

Got a single and a double, cant remember if they loose air though

I'll nip into Halfrauds on the way home and get one. Expected to lose the pump but actually didn't, matress though... grrrr! Cheers anyway fella!

I still can't decide what to go in. The choices are tata, starlet or alto...

I've thought about it, but the fair lady barefoot has taken the 944 to work as usual. I've made a list though

and as you all know, 'a bloke can't have too many lists'.

There's no wrong answer there.  The Tata benefits from an Ifor Williams top for added Welshness, though you're less likely to be mistaken for a sheep rustler in the others.

The Alto it is then! 800cc, 4 gears and I've probably only driven it 15 miles in total since buying it. What could possibly go wrong?

Did I mention that there's a Tata specialist up the road? A470 between Newtown and Llangurig. Mind you, all of his trucks and a Mk1 Astra now seem to be shoved in a corner, so maybe he's stopped trading...

If you take the Alto then it definitely gives you more man points than I'd ever earn, which isn't hard TBF.

Surely, all you need to be a "Tata specialist" is a welder, a lump hammer and some wire...

;)

This would be reconsidered if you arrive in the mk1.

MOAR PREPARATION: Brake fluid, coolant and oil "borrowed" from work, I've fitted new* wiper blades (replacing the ones which were on the car when I got it) and replaced the cable ties holding the washer pipe to the wiper arm with snazzy new dayglo yellow ones.

That's the spirit, last year I had driven the Kia about 10 miles before shitefest, the long journey did it the world of good.

A few irritating questions as I'm a technology spaz, using a smartphone, so can't see the first details page.

Is the Saturday night camping location the same as SF14?

What would be the best/earliest time to arrive on Saturday at the campsite? (I can't make Friday as I'm on my way back from my LEJOG bike ride)

Thanks.

Still in work 200+ miles away from home - I am not happy.

You lot might see the boring instead of the Aerodeck at this rate.

Skizzer - have you got a mop for dealing with all the drool your car is sure to generate?

I have just converted the Mercedes into a 'camping car'.  Is it as good as M. Hulot's?  Non.
