Where is Cyanide Steve?

I was looking at the pics of RMX's Shifter Rossa in its gleaming new paint and I thought that was the bravest pick up restoration since......

Hang on a minute..

Where is Cyanide Steve and the other FSO pervs?

I've been in touch with him a few weeks ago, via Fakebook. I wanted some information about through which docks FSO cars were imported & he was helpful and answered my questions (it was Sheerness.) He doesn't do Autoshite as much but he is still very much an Autoshiter! I saw his lovely FSO Polonez on the M25 a few months ago-it really IS a beauty, complete with registration number H15FSO! Honestly!

Definitely living the dream :-D

Fortunately most of the following isn't mine.....I've actually run out of room.

Where/when did you get that? I saw one just like that being trailed by a van on the A75 near Dumfries.

Matt, we collected the Ital from Northern Ireland last week. The top picture is where we stayed in Cairnryan over night after driving off the ferry. You would have seen us on Friday 20th on the A75 as we drove from Cairnryan back down to East Sussex. Well spotted ;-)

I knew it looked familiar, I passed you in Springholm.

No it's only a recent find as the owner had died and it was going to be scrapped until a friend of mine was made aware of it and bought it. It has now been given the once over by a Simca specialist and will be undergoing restoration soon.

Calendar thread is over, folks, there's a years worth on this thread alone.

Is the blue Maxi the former Autoshite bike one?

Ah, that'll be the one which was on the bay a few weeks back, then. Looked surprisingly rot free!

Wow! That's like 1,100 miles @ 35p per mile (for an Iveco + trailer) + £100s in ferry tickets + lots of time.  All for a Y reg Ital! Hope something special is planned for it.

We covered 1300 miles altogether and it cost £310 in fuel.

The ferry was £214 return as we went across early hours of the morning.

The Ital was cheap but as it isn't actually mine, it's my friends, I won't say the price lol.

It is alot of money for what the car is but it's the experience we enjoy as well as buying the car itself :-)

Nice to see that the Escort Chairman didn't get bridged in the end, any plans?

Burger van run by midgets?

Transport for an extremely large dog?

I've just got to put a cylinder head on it and put it through an MOT and I'll probably give it to my Aunty and Uncle as my cousin is severely disabled and I know they were thinking about getting something like this. They don't know that yet. It'll be a nice surprise for them ;-) They'll have it by the end of March. :-)

Steve that's pretty top of you, as even 2nd hand adapted vehicles cost mega bucks, judging by Heaton's of Wigan's prices

I've found there is a scale, friends friends, friends who you owe, friends who will repay in kind or friends who's knicks you are trying to get in to.

Just my experience.

Autoshite Delivery ... How much do you charge for such a service ?

LOL!! :-D

Yeah, what Deejay said ^^^^

It all depends on the job itself really. I mainly do it for the enjoyment I get from it. I love my Iveco, I love driving it and towing the trailer and I love old Shite cars, so I don't ask silly amounts of money, just cover fuel cost and a bit on top to cover wear and tear and maintenance on the Van and trailer.
