Six Cylinders Motoring Notes

For those who do not Follow Motorcycle News we have a new field bike. The newest thing we have in fact 2012, but a Chinese 124cc Scooter and broken bodywork taped back together. It works well but it is a strange experience having cruiser handle bars.

This does not mean the Honda is forgotten, but it might be the end for the Peugeot.

My AX went to its first car show this evening at Milton Keynes Museum.

I had the embarrassment of showing non forum friends my lacquer peel bonnet!

I'd be so tempted to take the VDP as well and leave the Daimler round the corner when you knock on the door ;)

These are young impressionable girls who could be ruined for life by such a fright!

You can always borrow it for yours!

Do you have a daughter, have you checked that with her!

The S1 was received well. My friend's younger daughter exclaimed 'Your car is COOL!' so I gave her a ride in it after delivering her elder sister and her best friend at their Prom venue.

Their classic Daimler entrance may have been upstaged by the immaculate tractor in front that was carrying two beautifully dressed young ladies, perched happily on seats in the back transport box. The tractor was driven by another student in a dinner suit! He jumped down from the cab, assisted the young ladies to alight and escorted them into the Prom marquee, while his Dad popped out from the audience to take the tractor away!

We were followed in by a lovely maroon Mk10 Jaguar, driven by a chauffeur in a peaked cap. I didn't get any photos, sadly, but hopefully might be able to get a few off the girls or their parents later. All in all, a nice way to spend an evening.

Really need to drop by there again sometime... can't think of someone who has a more downright *interesting* selection of cars.

Aside from anything else, I don't think I've ever actually driven an Allegro of any form and that VDP is a truly remarkable time capsule of BMC's optimism...even if it was utterly misplaced!

Getting a photo of the Activa flanked by an XM and DS is something that should really happen too.  Once I fix the damned clutch anyway.

I have a stepdaughter. Until wife’s best friend bought a VW Eos, madam wanted to go to her school prom in the corolla.

It does look like a time capsule that was misplaced, that's for sure... one that has been buried for a long time! :-)

I think it's lovely, though and very glad we have it.

Found this on FB, will she look back fondly upon the car that took her to the prom?

My kids always hated my affliction for Citreon Visas! (come to think of it they still do)

But I have a Gamma.

....which also means you need a Beta and a Delta, and quite possibly an Ypsilon and Kappa.

The show is creeping up on me...still quite a few things to do before I'm comfortable taking the Invacar that far from home...imagine I'll do similar to last year though...attend show, head home, catch my breath for a bit then drop by the gathering at your place for a while.  In which vehicle remains to be seen.

Our Metro is back from the paintshop this afternoon, but it started to rain so inside quickly and no photos.

I have the decals on order, but I still need weather strips for the doors.
