Strange, I was thinking just the opposite. No, I don't want it. I have other more expensive shit to worry about!

If you have one of those ELM interfaces that plug into the OBDII socket, download MultiECUscan (previously FiatECUscan) and read the codes off with that.  The software is free, resets and reads codes and you can monitor live data etc! :)

I've not downloaded that but it sounds helpful,I use a generic cheap obd 2 reader.

It's coming on when the car is cold and I think the temp is reading as it should, i.e bottom of dial. My lad has a FCR but it's getting him to do it! Anyhow, it's on offer for £175 if anyone wants it (haha) and is tested until November.

On the dance floor?

There's your issue then cav. Mine read no more than a quarter when I bought it. It should read half after approximately 5 minutes. Temperature sensor fault causing eml to come on. Mine did and when I replaced it along with stat it reads halfway all time now after about 5/6 minutes and heater is red hot

Sorry, I mean when the car is stone cold the temp gauge reads at the bottom. I don't know what it reads after a few minutes as I haven't looked at it yet!

Crap. Why do I want this bucket of toss? Best give us ticket details to this godawful raffle.

It's not 100% yet, but if it does go ahead I reckon it'll be a fiver a ticket. HALF PRICE VALUE.

No, not this time... not a fucking chance. I am most definitely fucking out cos even if everycunt on here bought a ticket except me I'd still fucking win it.

As a bonus, it'll fit in the back of a Volvo estate and you can be some kind of small scale KnightRider, rolling it down some scaffold planks whilst doing 35mph through the Cumbernauld industrial estate looking for scallywags that have just nicked some Irn-Bru.

You could call it the Cms Uberwagon Nine Thousand.

I love these. I enjoy driving them, it's great fun...only experienced 8v flavour though...

I don't fuckin want this though... :-P :-P :-D :-D

I'll have a ticket just for the SHITS 'N' GIGZ. I'll do an EPIK KULEKSHEN FRED from Cavcraft Towers back to GG 'Crown Heights' - then promptly over to my local scrappers where I will ask for it to be cubed immediately, thus letting the whole of the UK breathe a collective sigh of relief and to bask in the knowledge this slice of gold will be well and truly 'fried'.

You're making the frankly laughable assumption it will actually make it back!

Of course it will! Those AA Trucks are good for 200k aren't they?

Right, came to work in this today. Started ok but juddery as hell, so took the back lanes 'just in case'

In fairness once on the move, you couldn't fault it. Pulled very well for small engine/raspberry box and couldn't spot any problems.

I was lucky at junctions as they were all clear, so I don't have to stop. When I got to work and put it in 'park' though it reverted to type and was struggling to stay running.

The box seems to be a CVH (or whatever they're called) as I couldn't say I noticed any changes at all. Also there's no '1 2 3 D N P' just D N P and, curiously an 'L' option???

Anyhow I'll see how it performs coming home, it's definitely been pulling as it should when in a run.

CVH - Coarse, Vibratory and Harsh. That was the Ford CVH engine.

That's CVT. Coarse, Vibratory, Toss. Different kettle of Aldi value beans.

Does point to a Coolant Temp Sensor problem - this would give the rough idle as the engine still thinks it's cold and confuses the ECU. Does the fan come on more than it should?

The 'L' gear is Low Gear - used for steep hills, running over Rik Waller & Michelle McManus types etc.

Move lever from drive to the right I think for semi auto tip tropic or whatever it's called mate

Posted

I thankyou. Hadn't noticed the fan coming in/out, though we did have that problem with our last 1.2 Punto.

Posted

Temp gauge and fan seem ok. I gave it an Italian tune up on the way home tonight and it seemed to make it struggle at low revs when driving.

It did manage to stay running when left in drive and park, but as this morning it struggles a bit.

Posted

Where abouts did temp gauge sit? Did you try manual mode on box too?

Posted

CVT giving running issues/stalling when you stop = bollocksed gearbox. SCRAP IT M8

I'll buy a raffle ticket, go on dare ya. Thats just so gash it will be brilliant.

Any ideas how to lock up an auto box? With a manual I was going to put it in reverse and fill the footwell with cement to prevent the pedals being pressed.....

Posted

I'd be inclined to believe that if it ran smooth in neutral, but even then it's still struggling. The last owner suggested HGF but I'm not sure.

1.9centz...

Anything with a monikka 'selespeed' is an electronically/ecu controlled hydraulically shifted 'manual 5speed'(& clutch).

Savvy 'auto' has same toss (read: Renault QS5)

[/facepalm]
