Yeah I went with them to the Gaydon BMC show last year. Might drag the A35 out, if I can be arsed to drive it to Birmingham. We'll see!

Im going to go in the rover 220. It would be nice to bump into anyone else thats going from here but as far as i can make out you get siphoned off into model specific areas- which could get a bit tedious, its a shame we can't have an AS corner Somewhere!

When I took the 220 last year, still with missing wheel trim and wearing big patches of primer and a generous coating of grime from a month in a leaking lockup, I wasn't told where to park so I just dumped it at the top field near a random assortment of other cars. A chap then parked his spotless 416 tourer next to it and made it look even worse.

Wonder how a modified Korean copy of an 80s Ford would go down...either way it sounds a bit of fun! Any overnighting?

Sounds like a good excuse for a mini-shitefest at a nearby campsite ;)

I enjoyed the show very much with the 220 in 2013, last year I was away but this year I no longer have a Longbridge built car having sold my ZT-T as well as the 220 but I might be able to borrow a Metro, I think it is well worth going if I can get my self sorted.

I have now asked my friend for the use of his Metro Turbo for the event but was turned down because he plans to go himself with the Metro Turbo.

However not all is lost because he has offered me the use of his 1972 Mini 1000 instead. Nice you might think but I am larger than I should be and older than I would like to be, so might need some help getting out of the Mini after a 78 mile drive!

I've decided to go and not to be a miserable twat, purely to catch up with mates who will be there. I won't be overnighting, I'll scoot off fairly early to see family in the area.

Im going up from Devon in the Rover 220, spending the day there. Then I'm off on a roadtrip/ driving holiday to the far north of Scotland via the Isle of Skye.

Well now just a week and a bit to go so I reminded my friend of his offer and another change of plan, as he has not sold his 2004 MG TF I have been offered that instead so look out for me in this!

Since when were you on here Rich? Welcome in!

Be good to see the CR there too.

I quite fancied going in the Rover (which I assume would sneak in even though it's from Solihull), but a. it's still a speedo short of an MOT and b. I'm on a three line whip to go to Germany for my wife's youngest sister's eldest son's first Holy Communion ceremony, of all things.

Put me down as a maybe, I'm coming back from Techno Classica on Friday night and overnighting in Gloucestershire. A wrong direction move to POL might be in order (hangover permitting).

I'll be there in the MG ZT 260, Be good to meet some of you guys.

I'll be with the zt260 club but will be having a good wander about too!

Still debating...Can I really be arsed to stand in a field full of variations of something I already own...And I have no time to prep it, so XOG would arrive with its many dead flies still intact and grubby alloys. MEH.

Ah well, scrap it then. Jesus, who's gonna care about a bit of grubbiness? Better the damn thing be used and enjoyed.

[Takes self off for imaginary cigarette].

MGF is flatter than a slice of spam on a Dutch pool table, and I can't borrow my late uncle's 75. I'm out.

I think I've managed to blag a lift there in a friend's Austin 3-Litre. I shall ignore the vast swathes of chavvy shit and seek out the quality shite lurking within.

How come you all seem to know when it is on and I don't?

This Sat.

Has changed who is organising it, so probably less promotion.

It is impossible to pass off the Xantia as anything remotely British and the Princess is still le-fucked.  Also, I don't want to go to Birmingham.  I'm out.

As I'll be driving back from Edinburgh on Saturday and this is almost exactly en route, it'd be rude not to stop in for a bit.  Alas, no Rover this time, I'll have to hide the work's Caddy van in the visitor car park.

I daresay there's one or two cars and/or faces I'll definitely recognise but I still think that autoshiters at this event need to be holding a red balloon for easy identification.

As the show season is starting up again, I'd better apologise in advance for the blank staring when you wander over and say 'hello!' I thought I was quite good at recognising and remembering faces, but I think old age (37 this year - ancient) is catching up with me. I stand a better chance of recognising your cars. Sorry about that. Mental priorities and all that. Mrs DW gets fed up with me remembering key lifetime events purely by what car I owned at the time...

^^ My other half sometimes has steam coming out of her ears looking at old photo's when I say "oh it must be '93 'cos my BX is in the background"

Can't bothered to put up the anal moaning that it's dirty or one of the indicators is slightly squonky, which is what happend last time I took it to an event. I KNOW. I DRIVE THE BLOODY THING.

I'll be driving down in the 205GT and parking on Lowhill Lane (the road with Longbridge [the remains of the factory] on one side and Cofton Park - where Red Robbo coralled the workers and asked for a show of hands on numerous occasions AND WHERE THE EVENT IS - on the other side), in the absence of any road-going BL Tin in my fleet nowadays. There is plenty of parking - the workers used to park on the pavement and that still happens at this event every year...

You could do the same in your French tin?? :)

I still have the LHD MG Maestro 1600 which is road-legal (specifically, MoTed for the next 12 months), but driving down with a terminally-cracked windscreen would be an insult to my MoT Tester should I get a tug for it (and it is stripped out inside except for the driver's seat and seatbelt) :( .

MacDroitwich will have a small gathering there.  We tend to bypass the shite in the field these days and go straight to the pub.  Its how Longbridge would have wanted it.

You'll be parking on a slopey field full of other shit cars, also not washed, some neglected, possibly hanging, with bearded men crying (though not our DW) because they're at a long-dead factory graveyard. It genuinely sounds like it could be rubbish and full of sad-cases. Where do we EVER get that kind of opportunity to fit in and be the man? Get your fat ass there FFS.

Look for the 800 blasting Sabrina at bollock-distorting levels.

So should we try to arrange a spot to gather with our cars? Having an unofficial AS zone should break things up a bit from the rows of similar models, and make it easier to find fellow shiters.
