The Reverend Bluejeans Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Late Late Update .... To cut a very long story short .... After nearly 8 weeks and still no car we sent a letter as per advice saying that she no longer wanted the car ...They said fine but no deposit returned .After a couple of visits (no shouting, she doesn't let me!) and threats of small claims court ... their initial retort being ' what, you'd take us to court for £500' ?? !!!!!We settled for half of the deposit. Thanks to everyone who put their two bobs worth in and gave advice ... Much appreciated That's bollocks. You gave them a 500 quid gripper and it's THEY who haven't shaped up. Sorry, but unless you';ve signed that £250 away, you want to be going to a small claims court. M'coli and Alexg 2
Felly Magic Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Bunch of bastards, go to CAB/Trading Standards. They took the piss, and charged you £250 for doing so
HillmanImp Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I think it will cost you a further £30 or so to fill in a form threatening to sue them and file it, although I may have dreamt this. If I am right, it will cost them hundreds to respond as they will be required to advise their solicitors and it will have to be notified to their insurers. Go in and threaten to do that and see what they do.

Craig the Princess Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Local paper should be good to give them bad publicity.
TimothyClaypole Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Trading Standards will be all over them.
trigger Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 It sounds like they have right royaly fucked you over, I wonder how many other people they have done it too?. I certainly wouldn't take it lightly, even I'm annoyed for you!. Speaking to the local press could be a good place to start as well as making it clear to see over the Internet by naming and shaming them.
Alexg Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 The motor trade is full of short-sighted, egotistical, selfish, idiotic cunts - fact. Tell everyone about shoddy service at named dealer, they fucking deserve it. inconsistant 1
UltraWomble Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Playing devils advocate herenone of us really know how much shit Count Arthur Strong (ChrisJVM) has had over this and sometimes taking a hit for the sake of a quiet life is worth it. The missus was in a not too dissimilar place a few years ago over the loss of £500 ish. Mentally it was taking its toll on her and whilst her Liability insurance team were happy to take the other side to court for breaching their contract we reached a point where for mental sanity she had to walk away from it and just say fuck it. Still, dogshit under the car door handles has its place in life..... dugong, Cavcraft, chrisjvm and 1 other 4
nacho man Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 This proper wound me up. I hate arseholes like this. Please take it further and get your money back. Also name and shame them sure we can come up with some cunning plan. brickwall 1

Craig the Princess Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 We should turn up and take some test drives, can't imagine it would take long to waste £250 of their time and petrol. inconsistant, alf892 and chaseracer 3
chaseracer Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Especially if you never change out of first gear.
Parky Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I like the idea of having a shiters day where we all rock up and spend the entire day driving their stock and generally mucking them about. Wasting time with us means no sales to genuine customers. Could be fun! EssDeeWon 1
Lankytim Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 ..Or take one of their cars for an extended test drive an break it for spares on ebay.
EssDeeWon Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Name and shame the dealer, then file a claim to the small claims court, report this to Trading Standards, and dont forget to sign them up for PPI refund calls.
NorfolkNWeigh Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 We should turn up and take some test drives, can't imagine it would take long to waste £250 of their TYRES and CLUTCHESFTFY AnthonyG 1
