Will be interested to see this, I was after an E39 523/525 as winter chod a few months back. Don't think I have the balls to buy a V8!!!

I had a e34 540i for donkey's years and would like another though I'm prepared to accept an E39 substitute :-D

I too had an e34 manual 540, it was a rare c ar, though quite a tired example, this one looks nice, not driven it or anything yet, just walked round it. Not even heard it run........ Chap seemed very nice, even though he ws buying an audi......... Sure it will be fine. :)

I had an auto 540 touring for a few years, it was a great car, would have loved a manual.

I would rather have a bmw than a saab (glorified vauxhall so by proxy shit) saab's are nice but can't compare!

I don't think the 99 has anything to do with Vauxhall... I'd like it for mega winter fun!

There is an 03 reg 730D auto for sale up the road for £2K, private sale, a couple of scratches, I assume mega miles. I am tempted, but a 5/740 petrol with LPG would be more fun.

The V8 would be more fun but the 3.0 diesel will average over 40mpg and isn't short of grunt, my 540 averaged 21mpg over 30k, which was an improvement from my tweaked Supra's 16mpg average at least, but still painful.

The 740i is a bit lardy. It's still quick but that engine in a 5 series is magic.

You'll be fighting the driftorz off with a shitty stick.

No idea tayne, not got it yet. Only glanced at it and bid the man...will update as soon as i get it. I am expecting it to be a keeper, for a while at least. :)

Nice, I looked seriously for one of these recently but finding a good example is getting harder.  I iz jealous.

You can only be jealous IF it turns out to ne a good one......it might be an absolute bag o shite. I am hopin his new car will be ready for him tomorrow.... So not long to wait to find out. Of course if it apears for sale soon...you will be able to draw your own conclusions as to how "good" it is. :)

Well it arrived.... Very pleased, better pics when it is light, and clean. It must be an se as it has wooden bits. It does have a spoiler and pull out bits on base of seats, but im sure a sport wouldnt have wood....... Anyhow, looking forward to putting some hard, smile filled miles on it.

That looks really nice. The M-parallels on it are probably worth a few quid if they're original. Pull up the back seat squab if you can be arsed the build sheets probably still stuck in there.

Posted

Dont think so....look standard...but do have pull out squab..... Non electric.... Non heated.:(

That's lovely... Add a set of steel wheels with trims and "518d" badges to create the ultimate Q car ;-)

To make it look more shite, add some well-worn door seal kick strips. I can let you have a set of 4 in exchange for yours (which are prolly in perfect condition and are therefore too nice for you).

Looks like it has manual sport seats...... Thats good.... I think.....post-4577-0-07262400-1418072804_thumb.jpg

This looks the business other than the headlights, not sure whether they are OEM or after market angel eyes but plain headlamps would suit it far better, love the rims too. Just looks like a pikey scummy council estate drug dealers car standard older BM with non standard alloys (but in a good way)
