In an old life I spent a lot of time under MX5s and the Eunos Roadsters were always in far better condition, even if they'd been in GB since more or less new. The MK3s were awful - didn't handle even when "sorted" and were just as rusty as any MK2, despite being half the age. I was always surprised there aren't more MX5 kit cars. As your picture shows, the great chassis can be separated from the (usually very rusty) body quite neatly.

I've been to the Forth bridge only once, and I was driving for a friends gig and didn't have time to stop. It was also at night.

a car I had fancied for a while appeared courtesy of @Conrad D. Conelrad, this lovely SLK230

which was a comfortable, if somewhat thirsty, daily driver.

then an old friend reappeared - the green mk2 mx5 which had gone to Scotland was bought back via @RetroShite and brought home, the slk sold to @Split_Pin

for reasons I can't quite recall, another Bini CooperS joined the fleet ( @Mi30n bought this for me by remote control from @Peter C)

which proved a needy little bugger - the crank pulley fell to bits TWICE in the space of a few months so I eventually got fed up and headed to Scotland for a sensible daily in the form of this Volvo C30 D5 auto from @davehedgehog31

in the meantime, a project mx5 was purchased from Scotland, which broke down 5 miles into the journey home :(

@320touring and @Lacquer Peel came to my rescue and I came home empty handed, the car following a few days later on a low loader

various fixes took place over the winter, it was running like a charm when a little* bit of rust on the sills was discovered :(

@DVee8's mate did some welding repairs and we got it looking proper smart

sold off the forum to a lovely lad down in Manchester for a grand profit of £5 !

one more to bring this up to date - another roffle win, courtesy of @Dave_Q

which, being a bini, didn’t quite go to plan.

a duff alternator made for an exciting drive home then a knackered gearbox really tested my commitment to this little car.

eventually up and running, i sold it to @colino and drew a line under my bini adventures

shame, it was a fun little car, just hadn’t been cared for.
