Swapsies only? Just asking like....

you do sometimes. Not that I am fed up with the Big Rover at all but as we all know on here a change is as good as a....... change.

Here's the car (from Wilko220's ad):

http://autoshite.com/topic/17191-for-sale-rover-75-connoisseur-se-25v6-low-mileage/

I've cleaned the leather which has come up lovely, fitted monogram head rests - cos I could. Fitted a replacement N/S front pillar trim and put a poxy star crack in the screen. Luckily this is outside of the prescribed MOT zone. I was going to get it done when insured.

The Big Rover is in a barn in Essex. It is MOT'd until some point in December. It even has petrol in it. It starts first turn of the key and runs and drives as sweet as. It truly does.

So what am I after? Feck knows. Surprise me. Tell me I have no chance, am barking up the wrong tree, plot losing, whatever.

I haven't had a Ford in an age. Not overly keen on French stuff apart from the odd and quirky things which obviously cost real money. Estate, could be good.

An MOT would be helpful and collecting the Rover from Essex would be the way forward as it isn't taxed or insured, the replacement will also be living in Essex for a couple of months. Oh, and no cash money should exchange hands for that is not the AS way (or otherwise known as being fecking skint).

Over to you lot then :)

Bloody hell. I posted this at 10.47 and not one reply. This forum, blah, blah, blah, grumble, trump, sniff.

These non face lift 75s are starting to get rare, You are potentially sitting on a gold mine here Purple...

Leave it in that barn for another couple of years and let it get dusty then one day go and 'find it' in the barn and sell it for ££££££££££££££££££

Hmmm, I've not really bonded with the XM Estate - mind you there has not been a lot of opportunity apart from driving it there and back between various repairers. Touch wood when it comes back this time it will be good to go.

Do the rear seats fold down in the Rover to accommodate my penchant for driving long bits of perspex around the neighbourhood?

Posted

Nah, the seats don't fold down but there might be some kind of ski slot in the middle but don't quote me on that. At all.

I reckon it'll be nearer 10 years. There are still a goodly amount out there. Not sure I'll have the barn long enough, or I may be dead, or something.

XM estate. Quirky, stylish and as huge as a huge thing. Auto? I know feck all about them apart from knowing I like the look of 'em. Green spheres are a bit scary, non?

Keep 'em coming folks. You know it makes sense.

Self-bump.

2 wheeled stuff (powered by petrol) even considered.

C'mon yer feckers!!!!!! XX

Is it 'cos I is from London and scary thus preventing those amongst you with suitable vehicles from considering a straight swap which is surely the autoshite way. Nah, it is 'cos this forum ain't what it used to be*

No one interested? Really? Honest?

C'mon, I'll even supply a mean bacon and sausage sandwich with your choice of sauce. I will!

Posted

Actually the bacon and sausage sandwich is bloody excellent. Thick white sliced bread too. Yum!

Posted

I'll be keeping hold of Rover then  :D  :D  :D  :D

Last chance for swapsies folks. Keeping this will mean selling the Toledo. Surely someone fancies a swap for something?

There should be, there was on mine which was in lowlier Club spec.  Go on DSD, you know it makes sense.

Whoa there, Neddy, can I re-e-e-e-e-e-e-wind? Two wheeled shite, you say? What sort of RARE ITALIAN 2 STROKE 125 MOTORBIKE are you after for it? He said, in a RARE ITALIAN 2 STROKE 125 MOTORBIKE way.

Italian + 2 stroke + rare = most bits made out of unobtainium and likely only available from secret stashes owned by English hating mortadella eating Italian xenophobes called Luigi. If it had been a CD or CB 185 or 200 then that would be a deal. I hate 2 strokes after having an MuZ 301. Hateful piece of shit. Soz Billy

Hey Billy, swap yer dat der Saab fer dat der Rover.

Rover 75's are currently the worst investment on the planet and have just had their credit rating downgraded by Moody's to Y+ (10 pts worse than 'junk')

Hey, that's better than I thought. Cool!

Ok, I finally give up. I genuinely thought something would come of this, I really did.

Thanks to those who posted :)

Ok, no swapsie interests but anyone fancy offering some cash money for it instead?

Offers? I'm pretty hard to offend.

I liked that Rover when Wilko advertised it.  I still like it, every time I go back and check out the pics.  It's been very difficult to hold back from offering you my Mercury for it!  I've managed so far, largely because of the road trip involved, which I really don't fancy, but I can feel the attraction.

Someone take it off his hands, please!  Before I do something daft...
