That's very nice. Your definitely a lady who's got good taste!

Haha, thanks, it will be a lot nicer next year though!

You're a lucky lady, make no mistake :)

I'm amused to note as with my C900 yours sports the optional 'invisible' headling.

Best of luck with it; are you tempted to convert it to FPT?

The thought never crossed me mind actually.

It would depend on how big of a job it was, my mechanical skills aren't quite expert so it would depend on whether or not I could tackle it.

I'll keep it in mind!

I wonder how ridiculous I would look "wollarding" considering I' only a mere 5'3"...

We have no wollarding prejudices whatsoever. Height is no restriction, or lack of. Honest we wouldn't laugh. Oh no.

Make sure to look EARNEST. NO SMILING!

I'm a teacher, I seldom smile anyway, I'll do fine....

Hmmm, I'm detecting a hint of sarcasm :P

Hi Links234, I like your taste in cars... is the 900 rot-free? I'd be syphoning funds away from re-sprays to corrosion prevention and rot-repair, not sure whether that's an Autoshite approach or not...

Anyway, welcome aboard - I'm looking forward to hearing about some driving, not just polishing! Old Saabs are hugely under-valued, in my book. I ran one of the first 900 16s a few years ago, it was genuinely fast and felt fast too, Your enthusiasm is great, to the point I've started wanting a 96 all over again.

Thanks. Before I bought it, it had been sitting up for 2 years so it has gathered a bit of rust in places. 90% looks to be surface rust and the other 10% I will have cut out and replaced. A respray is definitely on the long finger, of course I'll be looking to have the bits of rust that need attention looked at first.

I like the 900 a lot to look at, but never really bonded with mine. Unlike all the other 60-odd cars. Oh, hold on a minute. Maybe it wasn't the Saab's fault. I'm just a car whore.

As pleased as I am to have another female amongst the fine ranks of Autoshite, I don't mind at all if you do not provide photographic proof. I'll take your word for it. Though I have to respect the cunning way in which a Woollard was used to try and tease a pic out of you! That's men for you. Sorry.

Thought you had a 9000, DW - a totally different machine? Perhaps the 900 was before you started blogging/journalism?

I've owned both. 900 was pre-blog but not pre-journalism. I sold it to M'Coli and I think it possibly ended up with HillmanImp on here. 9000 was a better car I felt, if less quirky. Headlamp wipers always rule though.

I took that as a bit of lighthearted banter to be honest and I'm sure the others did too, I certainly did not take it in the wrong way at all. By the way, for anyone who mightn't have guessed - thats me in my profile picture.

I've been on other forums in the past, and initially I'm always met with "You're a girl, you can't be interested in cars, troll" etc. Not even the slightest mention on here, which I'm happy about :)

Ah yes, I think I remember now. Wasn't it a 16v without a turbo - they always seemed to be the least engaging of all, somehow. Earlier ones somehow had more Saabiness - perhaps it was the wheeltrims? From the late 70s to the mid 80s, Saab seemed to have a huge variety of alloys and steel rim trims, which were made from stainless. I thought the EMS alloys cool, the GLE trims wacky - I struggled to find a picture.

No worries. As long as we don't scare you off I'll be happy! Truth is, it is a bit unusual for females to like old chod. Mrs Dollywobbler does, but not enough to talk about it on forums! She just hates moderns.

Understandable. I'm yet to meet another female who is interested in talking cars with me :/

Well, there's several on here, although in the minority. My wife is reasonably into cars (she's an engineer too) although not to the same level as I am, and more into newer/sportier stuff than the fine* examples on this forum.
