Anyone Going to the NEC? (for the classic car show)

I shall be there with a group of Nontagenarian Morris owners on Saturday. I shall mostly be laughing and pointing at the collection of Traction's on the CCC stand and seeing of I can get away with putting a BXC window sticker anywhere on the stand

BTW - look at the APR on this:

Providing you own your own vehicle that is clear of finance, Logbook Loans can provide you with a simple fast loan. APR 437.4%

:shock::shock::shock:

Yeah - call Kneecap Direct for all your money needs :!:

I had thought about it. however as the combined cost of entry + parking + obligatary dog burger is somewhere in the reqion of a quatrillion pounds, I shall probably not bother.

How much is parking at the NEC now?? I've not been for about 10 years but it was £5 or £6 then......and it's not like you can park nearby and walk is it!

You might be better off driving to a railway station a few stops away and taking the train in? Much less hassle to get out again than the NEC traffic queues!

As it stands I wont be able to go even though I live around the corner.

Nope. Too damn dear -to go and look at more common/modern/ bland'er versions of stuff in the shed. And the A/jumble is expensive Chinese junk -mostly.Not for me.

Nigel, you should have an open day and charge entry to your shed.As the ideas man, I would expect 10% of the hot dog sales 8)

For under a £100 you can fly to Geneva and back in a day easyjet and pay to get in the worlds best motorshow full of bizarre coach builders in hall 6. And still have change for some coffees. Really, and I'm doing it again, some mates on another forum are going saturday and its bloody adding up I tell ya.

Thanks tontops -but last time I let someone see inside one of my sheds -this happened

Over 2 years on ,i've started to rebuild this part of the collection -but the shed is still 'as is' -as the Council pontificate....

So -no thanks -Secret Squirrel for me ,seems the only ''safe'' option. Sorry

I'm off down tomorrow for the day.We are traveling down in a classic M reg catweasle Cav in green with paint pealing off.

I'm going tomorrow. Free entry and blagging, blagging, blagging all the way. I'm hoping to see a black Princess Special Six Automatic - then my life will be complete. The cars are okay, but one of the big attractions is Mo spotting - Mo is short for 'molester'. There were so many furtive flasher macs last year, individuals you really wouldn't entrust with your nippers.

I went.It was sort of okayish I suppose, rather dull - but the Maxi club had no less than THREE 1969 cable change 1500's on their stand. I thought that deserved respect, so I bought a Maxi owners club mug. :D The usual E Types and stuff like that but very little of interest. For me the interesting stuff included a 1960 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, a pair of standard model (cable brakes and no chrome) 1950's Beetles and a 1972 Alfa Romeo recovery truck complete with Alfa grille and 1290 twin cam.

Im all classic-ed out. I will post some photos later, but now I have to make it up to the wife abandoning her with three kids for the day....

Nice photos, I had my supersport there a few years back...nightmare of a weekend finding places to stay, having to take 2 cars etc etc.

Great pics, the white Fiesta and silver Meastro caused me to 'WOW' out loud...

The paint job on this was utter shite, it had runs in it, was mis matched across the car and frankly looked like it had been brushed on in places. I was amazed that a lovely mint Mk1 BX GT was sat out in the car park whilst the CCC had a f*kin XANTIA on the stand. Not even a mint example at that.

One thing I did notice was that the cars that people were trying to run as daily drivers were looking very frayed when you got up close. I made my decision that a classic would never be mine as I have nowhere to keep one covered up and it would need to be a daily driver. All hail the old shitter and Autoshite.

Keener listeners will notice I cocked up and re eddited a post above with some new photos that should have gone into the last section, ah well, I cant be arsed now to sort it out!

Thanks for posting these pics, wish I could've found the time and money to go, lots of stuff to drool-over there! My fave's, predictably, are the Lotus Cortina convertable, and the Corsair pick-up. Also, love the "lakester-look" Pop.
