What's the car under the truck?  Police are using a Chevy suburban.

My initial thought was that it may be an Autobianchi A112, but the rear light doesn't seem to match. ''-HS-'' is a 1976 plate...

It's an Autobianchi A112 Normal (base model). Those did not have reverse lights in the rear clusters.

I remember being shit scared of lorry trailers as a kid after my mum told me about a family friend crashing into/under one and getting decapitated. That thought stuck with me for ages.

I was told that story too. I presume it must have happened rather than being an urban myth as they eventually fitted side bars to trailers.

Sometimes known as Mansfield bars, after Jayne's unfortunate head trauma in an accident.

Reversing lights weren't standard on all Escorts until 1980.

Was it only certain spec models which had them then? Mother's L '73 mk1 definitely had them. I'm pretty sure her '70 mk1 had them too?

Yes, generally speaking it was only the lowest trim level that didn't have reversing lights.

The oldest Escort brochure I have, from 1971 shows "Standard" (lowest trim) and "Saloon" (second lowest) doing without, while L, XL and GT did get them.

Unable to afford a dolly, Jean-Luc Godard used a wheelchair directing Jean-Paul Belmondo & Jean Seberg in Breathless 1960. Presumably Belmondo there relaxing between takes.

Yes, Mark 2 was launched in March 1975 during the N registration.

I need an eye test. I thought the Imp was a police car. The light being the bloke stood behind it.
