Look at the state of this Mk1.  Fantastic.

All these pics are Manchester from between 1968 and 1972.  Sorry they're a bit grubby and blurry but that's just how they are, it sort of adds to the character IMO.

First I thought 1972 must be too early,the Maxi couldn't be more than 3 years old,and it looks well used.But the butcher's prices are in £sd.Which stopped in Feb 71.

Maybe the Maxi was a triple -shifted minicab.

There used to be a West Indian gent in Cardiff in the late 60s and through the 70s who dolled his car up like this ,but even more extreme.It was a MK3 Zephyr/Zodiac,and the body was painted yellow,blue, orange and white.Also the hubcaps.Most of the glass was obscured with plastic greenery,even the windscreen had some. In the 80s he replaced it with a MK1 Granada,done up in exactly the same colour scheme.

Cars aged fast in those days too. Poor build quality + abuse + salty roads + rep use etc. My dad changed his car every year for a new one when he was in business.
