Nissan QX

Seen a few of these for sale on eBay/autotrader at some pretty stupendously high prices i.e. like £2,000 for a 1999 example. Given they are fairly undesirable why are they priced so highly?

Wishful thinking by dealers mostly, there a black QX on the bay at the moment on auction, i suspect the ending price of this one will be more realistic.

I like them too, and Legends Camry's Legacy's and XG30/Grandeurs.

I am seriously tempted by a QX when the Almera gives up, last time I looked they were hovering around the £500 - £700 mark which is a price I'd pay for a 100k manual example. Three to four times that and I'm out.

A lot of dealers/traders seem to think rare=expensive.  These were all around a few hundred quid not so long ago.  Had a Maxima, its predecessor once and quite enjoyed it.

They put me in mind of a fat Primera, which isn't actually a bad thing in my eyes.

Worth a punt at that price but not having leather seems a bit naff. I thought that would have been standard in these things.

I think they're quite cool and shiteworthy in a kind of Hyundai Sonata / Mazda Xedos stylee...

Worthless indeed.

Nicer and cheaper: Still no leather though:

I believe these are really very good. Not had the pleasure though. Always fancied a more keenly priced honda legend myself

Every single QX on ebay has an Oxford numberplate. Oxford being where Nissan registered fleet cars at that time. Did no one actually buy one?

I've had two QX's, the most expensive of which was £400.  Both quite well equipped, both autos, but neither had leather.  The 2-litre was a bit underwhelming - made the right noises but too much car for too little engine.  3-litre was a much better bet - amusingly rapid and a good Q-car.  Certainly wouldn't pay four figures for one though.

I remember doing searches of QXs last year and wondering exactly the same thing about the 4 figure asking prices. Seems to be the same for Camrys too.

Not surprised about Camry prices, rightly regarded as one of the most reliable and durable proper cars ever made.

Thats a nice Camry, 3 litre V6 too.

Get a couple hundred knocked off that price, check it out carefully, stick an LPG conversion on it, fully rustproof it, classic insure it, cheapest most comfy luxurious driving you could find.

Car ad prices are weird.

These things sold like used food.

Guess why.

About 800 into the UK market yet still they are asking £6k+ for the oldest, leggiest examples of a £490 tax 23mpg gopmobile.
