The man laying on the ground in Motorwelt looks like he is about to trump one off!

I have most of the Practical Motorist mags from about 1954 to about 1990, Street Machine from the start though to the late 90's, a full set of Rod and Custom, and most of Hot Car plus the usual assortment of 'others'. The only mags that I definitely would never sell though are those in which I had a car featured or at least pictured and anything with roadtests or suchlike for the cars I own. I've got a great collection of mags building with Arna / Cherry Europe stuff in them from all over Europe.

Supercar Classics is another set of magazines I'd like to get my hands on.

At the risk of turning this thread into a FF Publishing love in, they are superb, especially the earlier ones as I'm sure you know. I have but a handful and lusted over the bound volumes in the emap library.

I have a lot of Car from '64 to '03. Used to buy it every month from 1992 through to about 2003 when I stopped buying it due to increasing and slavish love of the latest M3/GTI/EVO. Would like to get more of the early Small car ones, but they are getting pricy now.

I bought a job lot of about 160 from 67 to 82 at a Malvern autojumble for about £80, seemed a lot then but realise now it was a bargain.

Aside from Car I have few American ones from 60s through to 80s, mainly Car and Driver.

I used to keep Classic and Sportscar but don't bother now due to space considerations.

I've got the first 4 or 5 years of that mag.

It was sheer car porn, the most expensive and rare cars stunningly photographed, driven and written about by the CAR team. Driving reports on things like an Aston Martin DB4 Zagato or a Bugatti Royale, amazing. :)

Bought a bumload more early eighties CAR from a bloke in Coventry.

If you need 'Nineties CAR, try his eBay account at Davidbuckley18. He has loads of them.

I'm still short of a few.

Post a wish list please Jon, I'll see what I've got

I have a complete run of Supercar Classics, each one bought the first day it was on the shelf. A couple of them have "letters to the editor" written by me. I prefer the earlier issues, when it was a quarterly but every one is a keeper.

I must have spent a fortune on magazines but have kept very few. I seem to keep them until I have a box or two full and then get rid, keeping a few prized articles eg George Bishop tale of a Lancia Gamma or LJKS explaining why VW should build a FWD three wheeler coupe.

When I was a kid we had a (dead) Thames 400E van full of Motor Sport from the early fifties up to the present ie 1970 ish, also every issue of Motorcycle Sport. I spent hours in there, peacefully enjoying the writing and the smells of old Ford and old magazines rotting gently. Possibly one of the reasons I never did my homework.

I have all the 'Nineties CAR I need, so it wasn't me.

If you go round in person and offer cash he'll end the auction. I paid £30 for 34 magazines from 1979-83.

Couldn't we have a pinned Wanted  thread for motoring mags?    I often toss stuff out because its too new for me, I hate doing that  and would rather somebody had it that wanted it....

I'd do that, but then I'd have a wedding to cancel.

Do you want to give me the cash and I'll go and collect them?

Jon - will see if I have any of those for you and put them aside.

(Won't have the '79 or '80 ones or Sept '82, as those are also missing from my collection)
