I have the fortune of being a motorsport marshal in my spare time and my favourite events are the HSCC meets. Virtually always have a historic touring cars race with Minis, Galaxies, LoCorts, Anglias, Imps, Anglias, BMW '02s, all sorts.

 

If you ever get the opportunity to go along to an HSCC event - go. You won't regret it! The drivers really drive them as they were intended.

Excellent is the word that springs to mind I nearly had a trouser custard moment after seeing the spectacular shite on offer then they teased me with the xr4ti then clips of rs500s love tapping which will be on next time, I'm really looking forward to next week's offerings I think I'll need a box of Kleenex for those rs500s battling

Yep, watched this last night, top stuff.  I remember the Sierras, 88 was the first year Touring Cars really came back to telly and oh boy, what fun!  I watched both of John Cleland's championship years, not to mention those of Tim Harvey, Robb Gravett and others.  I was fortunate, I realise now, to see some of the Oulton Park rounds during this time, although crucially 1994 was a very bad year so I didn't get to see the Volvo estates.  Those will be in next week's show, or the one after, bet on it!
