Wanted: Calibra.

Yep, you read it right.

I'm looking for a Calibra with MOT and in useable condition. Much prefer an early, pre-facelift example. Must be manual, not arsed what engine (8V or 16V) and interior. No projects or any shit with a bodykit, neons and shopping list on the doors.

I'm a massive mingebag so something sub £650-ish please.

Don't all rush at once etc.

Theres one on RR atm, with "light damage" - ok, I see you've noticed that one....

They seem to be quite hard to find now they all seemed to have been monged up.

I've seen that thanks, Chris. The damage puts me off a bit.

Wasn't there a tidy J reg one on eBay tat the other day for about £700? Looked a honey.

There was, and maybe still is a DTM one for sale not too far from me- the white one with the "chips" I think he was asking 600 quid, but it did need a little tidying. I'll keep an eye out for it for ya!

Yes please! One of my favourite models the DTM, cheers.

Thanks for the links too peeps, keep 'em coming please!

That J reg ebay one in Harlow is now on for £595 so he's dropped the price, was also up on C&C for over a grand before Christmas.  Is an auto though but looks a cracker.

Which is better out of a Calibra and a Mk4 Astra coupé? Whenever i see one of those about i tell myself to see what they make on the bay when I get home, then forget all about it.

Calibra is simply older and more retro, plus you have a better choice of engines. Good ones for nit silly money are hard to find though. Astra Coupes on the other hand have never been cheaper. A good condition 2.2 with top spec and decent miles can go for as little as a bag these days. The turbo model isn't much dearer although they can cost a fair bit of money to fix if the turbo fails. Beware of massive wankers selling 300bhp 'mag featured' cars at interstellar prices though.

The good:

It's pre-facelift

It has a longer MOT

It has, I quote "NEW HEADLINING RE TRIM AND PARCEL SHELF AND LEATHER HANDBRAKE GAITER NOW COMPLETE"

Wheel trims are for winners

The bad:

It's far away from Cavetteland (Essex)

It's a bit salty

It has a caravan club sticker in the window.

Astra Coupe=Ecotec=bad.

Calibra=8v or redtop=good.

All pre Ecotec Foxholes are ace.

Tried selling my taxed and tested calibra a few months ago for about for hundred quid but ended up doing a deal with my v8 Audi because there was next to zero interest in it! Good luck finding one, theres plenty out there

I'm actually twitching on that J reg calibra. Looks super tidy for 600 sheets. I quite like a slush box too.

Auction has a few days left to run so I'm going to try and think of a spurious reason to justify why my life will end unless I buy another shite old car

I was hoping I'd got my Compulsive Heap Purchasing Disorder in check this year

Moan, moan, moan. You'll be expecting round wheels next.

I've now got a lob on for that Calibra. Is Essex near Belgium?

Not far, and they talk a bit foreign like wot Belgians do.  If I could find a mk3 Cavalier CD that clean for 600 I'd be happy!

It is lovely but I don't want an auto.

The white one 'over the water' is the absolute bollocks though, proper trouser tent material. Trouble is if I visit that part fo the world it'd probably be collect a top drawer Mk3 Cavalier SRi I've seen for sale.
