My dad had a Daewoo Nubira estate that he got given from the widow of the previous owner. The previous owner had committed suicide in it by gassing himself, my dad had the car about a month before selling it on

I'm not in the slightest, least bit superstitious - at all.

But I'd be fucking that off mega quick...

Back to cars, sort of.A good few years back,a fellow was living in his car in a lay by on the ring road in Leicester. He became quite well known, and was interviewed by the local paper. He reckoned the Council had offered him a property, but he'd found out somebody had died in it and he couldn't possibly live there.Seem to remember the car being a large Renault, possibly a 25.

Remember this - Glenfield turnoff before the M1. He alternated sides of the carriageway.  Think he was near fosse park on the odd time too.

I've been to the museum in Vienna which has the car in which Archduke Franz Ferdinand (lead singer of the eponymous pop group) was shot:

They have his bloodstained shirt / jacket there too, and you can see the bullet holes in the back door through which the ones that killed his wife Sophie passed.

It's an eerie machine, alright. Just something slightly spooky about it, even today, for an atheistic non-believer in any kind of juju.

He was in the big lay by almost opposite Fosse Park when I used to see him.

Interesting, I remember reading about all the subsequent owner’s deaths in an Autocar when I was a kid, not surprised that it was all nonsense made up by an American!

Conspiracy theories and coincidences portrayed as portents, together with retrospective interpretation of predictions etc etc are as old as people have been telling tales.

All magnificent entertainment though - the truth is usually much more boring.

Finding all the pieces would be difficult, supposedly it’s not unusual in Lockerbie for the farmers to still find shrapnel when ploughing. As an aside about 40 odd years ago in Tenerife there was a fatal plane crash of a Dan Air flight, went into the side of the Esperanza, everyone wiped out. Quite a lot of the wreck is still there, the landing gear and bits of the fuselage, unsurprisingly there’s also quite a lot of people’s belongings there as , it’s in such a position that recovering it would be extremely difficult so it just sits there.

They're expecting a lot to turn up in Kielder forest when the pines are harvested. They was one bloke driving past Lockerbie when it exploded and drove and drove until he reached the Rover dealer in Corbridge where the petrol station was. Totally shocked.
