My old man had one of those in his Talbot Horizon. I used to spend many a happy journey watching these random numbers continuously appear on it. I had no idea what they meant but I liked it. My Dad didn't as he left it in the car when he chopped it in for a Pug 309.

Gawd strewth. Who would carry a portable shitter around in their boot? Most people would find a tree. Certainly would have to take the corners easy with a full load.

I have no idea how that would work, but I'm guessing on pree ECU cars it would be somewhat "approximate"

Given that you had to remove the sensor fitted to the speedo head which meant removing the speedo remove the maximiser, and they were shit anyway then its not a surprise it got left.

This is great! I bet this won't get robbed very easily if you leave it on your dash. Stick a small lamp behind it and you can use it at night!

Shame its fucking £30! The old step-man loves maps, has a massive collection, he'd love that. £30 though, I'll not say a word!

I had a Volvo 144 with a Maximiser on it when I bought which just made it up as you went along, probably not helped by the mileometer not working and the fuel injection being removed for carbs!

My grandfather made something similar out of an old camera, I think he wrote the route instructions on a till roll or something, and it did get robbed- in the 1950s, before crime had even been invented.

If anyone wants to pretend they're Smokey and/or The Bandit, I've got a CB up in the loft. I'll drag it out and test it if there's interest

You haven't got Sally Field as well have you? I may be interested in pretending I'm bandit then.

Interested depending on the era. I fancy fitting one to my 80s Skoda. ;) Dunno much about them but remember several mates who had them in the day.

I scored these really awful fake sheepskin seat covers in a charity shop recently for a tenner. They now reside in ol' bluey but I'm not sure for how long as they really are shit...

Anyone remember those perspex attachments like draught excluders that went on the outside of the front windows, so you could roll the window right down but with almost no draught blowing in..?

I remember picnics in a Datsun 120Y with those little window mounted tables, they were ace*.
Rally(e) jackets, I used to have a nice green Castrol GTX one when I was about 13, I was the envy* of all my schoolmates.

My Dad often wore driving gloves, not the fingerless ones but the ones with the woven backs to them, I really fancy a pair myself now.
