100 grand for a Beetle?

Surely thats one too many nines!! Pity it aint £995...I'd love to have it!

Thats one of those cars that people bought when new, to 'store' and sell at a mahoosive profit years in the future. MGB LE's are another one....they're always turning up with bog-all mileage for 15-20k!

The advert says "Call Geoff for details and price" so I would imagine the £99,999 is just there because he had to put something in.

Chitty's even got a retro tat suitcase, puts those hipsters of today out of fashion for 100 years.

Blimey. That's fast work! It was literally collected yesterday. Thought he was at least going to tidy it up a bit before asking for dollar!

Is it D701 SWL?

Posted

It got towed on a trailer. The only thing fast between here and Reading would have been the fuel disappearing into the twin SUs!

It did go remarkably well though, even if the exhaust is leaking quite badly.

Too dear old son. A bit tatty round the front end, and some definite defferent-paint action going on there. And, they're 90 brake not 110, unless it isn't as "Totally standard" as he makes out.

I predict he'll get about £600 and it'll be broken for a Mini.

Mr Metro says:

'Please don't offer me bangers and want top dollar for them'

WTF is going on with the front end? Panel gaps all over the place and looks like it was put together by Stevie Wonder - even the after market speakers chiselled into the parcel shelf are not matching.

If it were OE and mint then yes, £3 large would be at the top end of reality, but not that.

The front end of that MG Metro appears to be a different shade of white?? Looks a bit tired for 35k miles.
