12k for a 5 year old Magentis!?!? Imagine that blokes disapointment when he realises it's worth about a 5th of that....

Posted

Jeezy Chreezy, I bet that Magentis wasn't 12 large new.

 It's just as well that everyone on this board is so mature and above childish shenanigans, or the seller of that Kia would be seeing a series of bidders taking the price to around the £100k mark before he realised that he was having the piss taken.........

Bought one similar a while ago for a mate, same age, half the mileage, nice shiny black paint and lots of toys; £585 including auction fees.

How about this then? Twelve bags for a five-year-old Magentis...

Just told him that he's put the comma in his price too far to the right!

At a guess I reckon that is what the car owes him in outstanding finance from one of those shark - we give car finance to anyone so long as you buy one of our motas - at 11000% APR for the next 14 years.

Its not even perfect

There is a broken handle on one of the cups (see photo). Also two of the leather straps that hold the plates in position have broken near to the rivets and there are some very faint markings on the top of the box that may clean off with some vinyl cleaner otherwise it is in excellent order.

1985 Toyota Corolla 1.6 GT AE82

How can a wanky old FWD Corolla with one shity photo be worth £6750??

Don't confuse this car with the run-of-the-mill examples offered for sale; the price for the car is not cheap

You can say that again!

Someone bought the Toyota, possibly for a lower offer but you never know, maybe it went to one of the ones who are born every minute?

What's the true value of the thing though but?

This is more like it! 8)

God knows, i know the RWD AE86 Coupe demands a premium due to the drifters (not the band) but i can't imagine a normal FWD model being worth anymore than £3000 top in that condition (if it's as nice as he says it is).

Me and Ian were just talking about these

(Update of Montego thread VERY soon.... "You're 18, i'm very good with boys" )

FWD Corolla GTs are fetching strong money nowadays, I think the price on that one is optimistic, but if the car is as good as the description reads (a one-owner minter), I wouldn't be completely surprised if someone ended up paying about £5K for it. I've seen ones with visible rot make close to £2K before.

The other day someone on here remarked that FWD Escorts were unlikely to reach the epically ridiculous heights of the RWD forebears.

I say O RLY.

Nice looking car, but fucking hell, TEN GRAND?

He also says in the listing he wants 7k for the car. WHY THE HELL IS IT UP FOR OVER 10K THEN? FOOL!

I know of another car company looking for three Mk3 escorts. I must send em a link to this one.....

WBAC offered me £70 for a 924 (minus £50 admin fee, natch). One of the jokers at work put it through, before anyone asks...

Going back to the Corolla, wouldnt it just be so fucking fantastic if The Drifters (band) turned up to buy that thing. Saturday Shite at the Movies! And a useful ability to sing "Up on the roof" after a bizarre shopping centre car park OMG DRFT rolling incident.Sorry about that. I'll get me coat.......

The Isuzu collector/hoarder who was interested in my Florian has/had this great 1969 example as well, I wanted to see if we could do a swap but just found out by accident he has put it up for sale at... 6000 euro?!

I guess he's still out of work or has other money issues - anyone want to swap my Flo for something nice/smaller and/or with less work?
