I love how the brilliant condition of that TK is completely destroyed by that picture of it with the mirrored Caravan.

Posted

I don't know so much, the travellers probably had them when they were new, and now it's come full circle.

Posted

^^ Chrome wheel finishers but pre-sign written shot looks more pikey than the one with the caravan  It is very nice, but 17.5k is probably a bit unrealistic.

Yup, the tk / waggon combo is spot-on period gypsy combo. Though an older TK/j-type or Ford d series with a swoopy, shiny vickers van would be my choice.

Posted

The J type on that site is amazing, some top notch work there. There was a gypsy site near woking which you could see from the train, and they had several TKs, they all looked pretty good too.I think there is only a d series there now though.

As far as I can tell, the D Series is the flavour of the month now with the traveller collectors. They have the cash to spend too.

Price is £17,000 as stated. yes read it again £17,000 sterling.

No timewaters or day dreamers saying their grandad owned one back in the day yes we have heard all these stories before and i'm sure back then everyone grandad had a toyota.

contact number will only be given to genuine buyer who can verify they have the cash available to purchase.

I was just about to post that! Might ring him up and tell him about my grandad having one.

£17k and it's not even that tidy. For £17k I'd want it to be completely unmarked and spotless in every way. No slightly scraggy seat bolsters or scruffy engine bay. That's a £3k car in my eyes, but I don't do the Jap / Oirish scene tax thing. I do the OSF scene tax instead :)

I would have thought with the collapse of the irish economy that RWD silly prices would have dropped sharply. Bloody drive-tarmaccers.

Posted

Thing is, if you wanted one that badly, you could just import one from Japan. Equivalent condition Levin hatchbacks are available from about £3-5K. Notchbacks are cheaper (and better looking to me).

What's the point of paying £17K for one here, are you going to save that much on the insurance or something?

It has, and if that sells for any more than 4k including scene tax I will walk down the high street of your choice, naked covered in marmalade.BTW Not everyone in Ireland is a Corollaphile tarmacker :)

just have done.............and had a reply...it's done wait for it105,000 miles!

Fuck me that's a lot of tofu.

Could I still get a JDM Levin 8-6 for £3k-ish ? They were like that about 5 years ago but I'd have thought they'd gone up by now. I've wanted an 8-6 since EVAH, even before the NOT-AE86-RWD-INITIAL-D plebs went wild.

His price is probably a bit hopeful, but I like his no-nonsense approach to potential customers. 'IF YOU ARE THINKING OF ENQUIRING ABOUT THIS CAR, PLEASE FIRST ASK YOURSELF IF YOU ARE A BRAIN DEAD MORON. IF THE ANSWER IS YES, PLEASE DO NOT CALL, THANK YOU"

Asking £17k for a 105,000 mile piece of "history" [ahem] is not exactly a sign of advanced cranial activity either, is it?

He comes across as something of a tosspot doesn't he?Yeah, no-one likes timewasters but if someone mailed me and said 'nice car mate' or 'my dad had one of them etc' I wouldn't see my arse over it.Wording like that on adverts and his seemed general twattiness will probably just drive people away.I say 'probably' because most will have run a mile when they saw the price.Seventeen fucking grand :lol:

For 17K, I'd want a car that was interesting

Don't let that Cubicle bloke hear you say that!Indeed the seller of the AE86 seems to be a 24 carat cunt, I hate it when I see 'hostile' eBay/C&C etc etc adverts like that, it seems they're making every effort to make people feel bad for viewing the page. I'd love it if somebody rang this bloke and told him to shove both his car and his hopes of 17k for it up his arse.

My adverts are a lot more hostile than they used to be. Can't be doing with ebay tossers. The Audi was advertised at £1995 or thereabouts, and I got very very pissed off with knobheads sending "Hi M8, I'll give you £700 cash for it today", so I stated in the ad that if you were thinking of haggling then it'd be a bloody good idea to come and view the car first - and bring money. It worked, no more idiots offering pennies for it, two people came to see it separately, and both wanted to buy. First wanted me to keep hold for a week - without a deposit, second turned up with cash and bought it.I suspect Corolla boy there is going to be getting a lot of £4k offers for his car, but surely he wouldn't have paid more than that for it?

£425 start

Unless there’s a skilled body man feeling the Marina love, who just happens to have a large stash of coupe panels and an interior I can’t see it happening.

hasn't touched the boot floor.

Blimey, are you sure?

The brakes dont work at all maybe this is why it had the accident!!?

WTF?? So it reversed at speed into something, being unable to stop?

Well, yeah! It shows the guy to have done his research and discover there's plenty of over-rich plebs out there who will buy this. They sell for that, same as nice Mk1 Scrotes get £25k+ and even a knackered flintstones-style VW Splitty will cost you £8k.He'd be an idiot to advertise it for less, imho. I certainly wouldn't.

HOW fugging much???

Knock the 5 off the end and you might possibly get some interest. The rest of his stock seems just as comically overpriced.

Although with a V6 and a manual 'box I should imagine the thing goes like a bat out of hell - they're quick enough with a 4-speed auto.

If the mileage is right, it's still a couple of grand overpriced...
