Billy - Medhurst Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 A friend of mine is clearing a private collection of cars (keeping 41 selling 96) due to life changing health issues. He now knows he will never do them all up so its culling time. So before its on R.R I am advertising this here. 1974 Datsun 120y sunny 41.000 miles and 3 owners. This is a car I found - the history is that a local to me old boy bought it at 1 year old and it was transferred to his wife in 1992 on his death. It was used until 1996 then garaged until her death in 2009. Bought from the family to be restored - but its not going to happen. Will need welding / brakes / service etc as expected. His old boy touches like a horrible blue carpet fitted. As found - OCTOBER 1974 DATSUN 1171cc 120Y GJU139N by Midlands Vehicle Photographer., on Flickr As is - OCTOBER 1974 DATSUN 1171cc 120Y GJU139N by Midlands Vehicle Photographer., on Flickr OCTOBER 1974 DATSUN 1171cc 120Y GJU139N by Midlands Vehicle Photographer., on Flickr OCTOBER 1974 DATSUN 1171cc 120Y GJU139N by Midlands Vehicle Photographer., on Flickr OCTOBER 1974 DATSUN 1171cc 120Y GJU139N by Midlands Vehicle Photographer., on Flickr £1000 - Mr Miles Leicester 07506 913774. barefoot Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 If only it were turquoise, a coupe, and with those, 'special' wheeltrims,I'd still quibble at the price and fuck you about a bit more. Billy - Medhurst, Skizzer, Joey spud and 1 other 4

eddyramrod Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I had one of those! That's lovely, and I hope it goes to someone who will appreciate it. The price will probably preclude most, if not all, of us here, but GLWTS. Mine was 50 notes... but then it was 1986!
cobblers Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Those flippin wheeltrims take me back! Fantastic. GLWS BBQ MILF BBW ETC eddyramrod 1
Billy - Medhurst Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 Morris Ital ??Yes - A 1982 MORRIS ITAL 1700 HLS saloon project.
Station Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Isn't this the car that worried the British car industry? That grille is crazy.I have a Hayne's manual for these if anyone wants it. I hope it sells before it ends up on RR! eddyramrod 1
eddyramrod Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 It is, and rightly so. It was sooooooooooo much nicer to drive than any equivalent Escort or Viva, which in turn were streets ahead of the Marina. It was also very well made, although look at mine: they hadn't "got" rustproofing yet. In that pic the car is only 12 years old. As for Rootes, they didn't even have a direct competitor for it! The lookalike Avenger was huge in comparison.
Barry Cade Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I love these things- when I were a kid, one sister had an orange coop, on 12" wheels, the other a brown 4 door, fatha had a 100A F11 and bruvva had a Laurel. Brown 4 door was traded for a 810 Bluey, Orange coop was traded for a 120Y New Sunny and 100A for a Polo.. I like Datsuns,me..I grew up with spangly blue carpet and square dials. Anyone got an orange coop? HSN 68N??
Shep Shepherd Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Ludicrous though it may seem, but that carpet is factory-fitted! http://www.ratdat.com/images/brochures/sunny/b210_early_uk_range.pdf
drum Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I had 140j briefly and would love this. Price would need to be divided by 2.5 unfortunately.

I also reckon that if your alternator died, you could make it home by just connecting a wire to the battery from your shoes and just create 40 amps from tapping your feet to Radio 2. Shep Shepherd 1
Mr_Bo11ox Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Looks nice, think he'll have a long wait for a buyer at £1000 though!
Station Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Four door, standing car (brakes, fuel system, engine), rust/welding - One owner, etc doesn't mean anything if the last owner was mother nature (see what I did there?).Definitely overpriced, seeing as you can get them cheaper on ebay for OTR versions (yes I have seen them, no I don't have proof).
