tooSavvy Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 ...YouTube vids of 'Rally Crash Compilation' on my S2 >> 2hr wait for a part to be couriered to site!. YT also gives a link to 'you might be interested....' similar vids. I saw 'Truck Accidents Compilation'...AWESOME! Obviously these are Eastern Bloc and Far.. Far.. Eastern Asian - like Japan or China, mebbies.  I just hadn't seen so much carnage... and it seems 'par for..' by some of the truck drivers. We had a newspaper headline about the car pushed by the truck.... I think I saw at least 3 on these. I understand Asian drivers use 'dash-cam' for litigation cover.... not surprised....LoL Mebbies they are old hat to Auto$hiters.... I was hooked!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlSjX9W4cms ... and more of the same. tooSavvy brickwall and michael t 2
brickwall Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 That first one is not really a crash, but obliteration.
HillmanImp Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Thats quite scsry. I wonder how many deaths ore on there. Not sure if it should really be made public some of that.  Those dash cams are only about £30.  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Novatek-HD-1080P-Car-DVR-Vehicle-Dash-Camera-Recorder-G-sensor-HDMI-UK-GS8000L-/121120092143 Everyone will have one soon. Its fine for crashes but it will eventually turn into miserable buggers just recording my bad driving and sending it to the local fuzz Â
wuvvum Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I've been watching a load of car crash compilation videos recently. I've got a bit hooked on them as well TBH. Mostly from Russian dash cams. This bloke has one of the better selections: http://www.youtube.com/user/CarCrashCompilation7/videos I see the odd old Moskvitch or early Lada in the videos and I find myself wondering how the hell they've managed to survive that long on Russian roads.
londonm Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Fuck that was bleak viewing, there was somebody on that footbridge took when the truck with its back up hit it. So what do we learn from this, keep your distance from trucks? That's fine until it comes through the central reservation. Horrible.
eddyramrod Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I try to avoid the crash vids, but it's entirely possible (if my connection is up!) to waste a whole evening on YouTube following links to old TV/movie car chases. Some of those 70s Italian cop shows... wow! It's amazing what a Fiat 124 can be made to do. I found one from elsewhere with Volvo copcars, including a blue 740 that barged a couple of classics off the road on the way to collaring a Merc w123. Clearly "The Swedeny!"  warren t claim 1

Tetleysmooth Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 You want to have a butchers at the aircraft crash compilations. They really are violent.
rml2345 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Air crash ones are pretty horrorsome, as you can probably imagine. Loads of these crash videos are too bit they can become really addictive to watch. You know you shouldn't look but you do anyway in a part horrified, part ghoulishly thrilled sort of way. I suppose it's part of what makes disaster documentaries so appealing.Or I'm seriously fucked up and should seek help...
MrDuke Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Some of those 70s Italian cop shows... wow! It's amazing what a Fiat 124 can be made to do. Are you thinking of 'Violent Rome'? I've never seen the entire film, but the chase scene is one of my all-time faves. Random mixture of gritty realism and improbable driving skillz (one hand on the wheel, right foot booting out the shattered screen, at 80mph ) There was also an awesome film with Jean-Paul Belmondo driving a ratty black Mustang with radiused arches, can't remember the name though. Oh, and the final chase from the original Gone In 60, obviously.... eddyramrod and warren t claim 2
eddyramrod Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I've never seen the entire movie either, nor any of the others, but the chases are crackers! Even without the sound on I enjoy them. And yes, the original Gone in 60 Seconds was worth sitting through the leadup. Good joke at the end too, IIRC.Â
warren t claim Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 This is better though.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVs5rVf8hB0 eddyramrod and trigger 2

Station Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I've driven down that road in Paris at the 2 minute mark in the Bourne Supremacy. (lame claim to fame). Car chases in all French films seem to be good. The one in Frantic is quality - full of 80's French chod (including a Tagora).
