HOLY SHITE - WHERE DO YOU FIND THESE THINGS!!??

Networking is the key!! Its like a merry go round of loveliness....

Posted

^^^ When I network all I do is stand around in a Holiday Inn Express conference room with a cold coffee in one hand and a cold bacon sandwich in the other swapping business cards and 'Linked In' contact details.

At no point does someone ever slide up to me and mention that they know the whereabouts of a Renault 14 with 2k miles on the clock.

Posted

I got a few from the NEC visit last year through contacts. This one is from within Club circles, so would never have reached the open market.

Yeah, the best cars never reach the open market. Sadly, I am not "social" enough to be a good networker. So I need to rely on the open market, buy cars that are not good enough to get snapped up before they are advertised and throw big money on them to get them half as nice as good examples. :-(

I should change my hobby. :?

Lovely, and another amazing autoshite rarity! By the time you've followed up your leads from this years NEC that'll be another half a dozen motors heading your way. I'm so tempted by a Yugo45 myself now.

Well done.

All,

Collected Fanny from The previous owners family....Mr and Mrs Fussy....they bought the Samara new in 1993 from Driffield and it stayed local until 1997 when she was popped in the garage. She had a mint interior, unused spare, original tool kits and only 3 small spots of rust to attend to.......genuine 7,000 miles....service items ordered, new timing belt, water pump etc etc. Under side is very good, no rot. Will post better pics when she's washed and waxed...post-12144-0-53350900-1417185853_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-95483400-1417185890_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-61764700-1417185925_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-35957700-1417185964_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-09054700-1417186002_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-54618000-1417186038_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-43067900-1417186077_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-16980300-1417186114_thumb.jpg

wow! Fantastic! I would imagine theyre the originally specified tyres too! Unsure whether it was lada or skoda now, but I once heard that cars bound for the west got better tyres than the ones fitted for the home market. Every so often a few of the western market ones would happen to fall over the factory wall....

Looking fwd to the pics

I disagree ! If I wanted to look at HDR photos of some "detailed" 1500HP Porsche (which spends its life stuck in traffic on the M25) I'd check the PH forum...

Our kind of cars must be photographed ebay-style !!!

All, kicked started 2015 with the rescue of a very rare Chrysler Alpine, this will be restored over the next 18 months. Also brought the totally original and un restored Horizon home from Suffolk to Yorkshire.post-12144-0-71888500-1422436218_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-26779100-1422436158_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-05473900-1422436128_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-36459300-1422436101_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-32789400-1422436054_thumb.jpg

The Alpine has had 1 owner from new, his company car from new. He stopped driving in 1989 and popped it in the garage where it was removed for clearance. Fortunately the chap doing the clearing saw fit not to scrap it.....very solid with no structural rot.

My hero. I know I've said it before but given you're locality I'd love to pop up for a shite viewing.

Did you buy that yellow Ital or did I imagine that?

Posted

No problem. No the Ital was a right state and bodged to hell....I like to see them all original then you know what your getting.

That's obscenely clean. Like, properly clean on an atomic level.

That interiour has brought childhood memories coming back. Seem to remember having blue seats the same as this in the '83 Talbot Horizon my parents used to own.......although it might have been the earlier Horizon or either of the Sunbeams - its all a little bit hazy.

Wow you must be cornering the alpine market. How better could it get - brown and beige. .......

The Chrysler Alpine rescued after a wash and fettle, she's running after 26 years, no rot, underside in great condition.....little work for the MOT!post-12144-0-07938600-1422613145_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-47492200-1422613159_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-90895600-1422613170_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-95455300-1422613191_thumb.jpg

That burgandy alpine looks like a different car to the earlier pictures (and I realise it is a different car to the brown one before anyone tries being a smartarse).

I always thought Alpine heaven would be a Chateau barn full of A110 and A310 Berlinettas.

Or a showroom crammed with pretty little 1950s/60s two seater roadsters and Harrington fastbacks.

I was wrong.
