Is that a 120LFive by the way?

Posted

Sorry guys one more...a Citroen Visa no less...registered in March 1986, tax expired March 1987, was never renewed and car remained in a garage for the next 26 years...only used for 11 months. Now running just needs some cosmetic paintwork...post-12144-0-57181400-1385687122_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-93744500-1385687163_thumb.jpgpost-12144-0-41857100-1385687212_thumb.jpg

How does someone forget they have a Visa? I know I've said already but this is an outstanding collection.

Where do you find all these gems?

This is an amazing collection that just keeps getting better.  I don't think there's anyone else saving these sorts of cars, much less in this sort of condition.

Superb on all fronts!!

Who's is the roller in the background?

I hated the 80s but I almost feel lurrrvve for that Visa, verily the world did indeed get worse and now I wish even lowly Visas were still around on street corners.   One day, soon, the world will thank you benjy....

Wow! You pretty much have your own museum! Right, Shitefest Is be held in Benjyp's yard next year!

Oh, the Visa has done 14,000 miles...had a fair bit of use in its 11 months, tripping to France.

This is an absolutely superb collection. As you say, it's great to see someone preserving really nice examples of these unloved bread and butter cars that many people remember from their childhood. It does make a nice change from the Oldskoolfordzzz innit and over-shiny MG's that most people choose to preserve. This is what Autoshite should be about.

. I've just had two of them at the NEC, you meet so many people who pass you their details saying, oh my mum or gran has one of those in her garage....so mainly contacts and trolling the sites....

Wasn't that one your "basket case" ?

Hey finally got the Style home from work they demanded I move it, put jump leads on it, wouldn't go, put petrol in it, wouldn't go, pulled petrol pipe off to make sure it was getting through, it was but would not start.

Anyway so I pushed it down the road to home and ditched it at a jaunty angle in the car park. Damn thing.

Alternator here on Tuesday I think, so will drop by then it will run. Eric is not in he same league as the others but loved all the same, he's tucked up waiting his turn, in fact I'm going to spend a day putting his calling back together and then fire him up....

My trousers may have just been blown clean off and I suspect I may have run so dry I may never father a child.

Can't believe I hadn't read this thread. Awesome.

Only now have I regained the ability to speak or type.

Holy crap.  For me, the fact that you keep these in a shed with a European Minardi sign on it is the crowning glory - the shiter's F1 team, owned by the ultimate scrap dealer.

WOW. That is all I can say. The Cavalier and Solara are my favourites.

I see the Solara has a 'EJ' Mid Wales reg - where did it come from? Kudos for a survivor from a pretty damp climate!

Samba takes me back as well, my gran had a red  A reg one, it replaced a very orange '78 Pug 104 2 dr . Sambas all seem to have disappeared by the early 1990s, despite being available up to 86.

If the intention is to flog them at some point, what would you ask for them?
