It was a generous MOT. The tester last year claimed 'unable to check due to covers.' That may be true of the outer sills...

 

Mat - are you not using the BX at the moment then? I'm amazed! I know your commute is higher, but thought you'd hate to be parted from it for too long.

Could'nt the tester have said "unable to check due to rust" and given you another ticket?

No, but not by choice It's currently not taxed, and I didn't see the point in taxing it just before we went away. And now, funds are a bit on the tight side to get another disc right now, so I just had half an idea that if you needed something economical and practical (and air conditioned in this mini heatwave ) it was potentially available!

I hadn't realised the Sirion was available on R reg! They're a hell of a lot more modern looking. Especially when you think the pre facelift K11 Micra, Rover 100, pre facelift Peugeot 106 etc were in the showrooms at the same time.

I hate to be a vulture, but as LS started it, drop me e pm if you are scrapping it as I may be interested in a few bits (front & rear bumpers to start with).

I will not be scrapping it myself, but the next owner probably will be. I just can't bring myself to do it! I've only scrapped three cars in my life (the first two, then a Skoda Estelle that I really shouldn't have) and the Sirion's cute looks just make it impossible.

 

R-reg is as early as they got. Mine was probably one of the first sold in the country. Shame really. Anyway. Some capers will be unfolding on Saturday. Ugh. Days away!

Vantman - logistics did indeed get the better of that one. I just need another vehicle that works, and is preferably a bit quicker than the 2CV. A vehicle is lined up ready to go but I've no idea whether it's a sensible choice or not. You and I will find out on Saturday!

Yes and no. I've left the employment today but I am still in contact with them. The warehouse manager (not my boss and always helps) is responsible for the Sirion and I thought I could help thinking that DW's Sirions days were numbered.
