Worst car poll that doesn't include Allegro, Marina - SHOCK

I'd love an Estelle or Avantime as a daily. Wouldn't really care if every example of the remaining 8 was wiped off the face of the earth

No mention of those Mercedeses that one could sweep away with a broom after 3 odd years despite they cost as much as a house.

At least we now know what all those car mags do with their bored work experience students : 'Hey, Tom... Do you want to get published ? Here's what you need to do...'

My mate Spanners developed what became the accepted fix for Muriel the Pleurisy's dodgy roof, and ended up shuttling up & down the country showing dealer techs how to do it. He was very busy for a while...

I really don't know for sure, but as a child Estelles were the butt of so many jokes. It strikes me that the car looks eminently sensible now, and I kind of like the idea of owning one. They must have been rugged too, Wikipedia states 'On October 5, 2004, a survey conducted by AUTOSALON revealed that among the 3,706,012 cars registered in the Czech Republic, 1,780,124 were Å kodas. At 305,726 cars, the Å koda 120 represented the entire group, while there were 216,857 Å koda 105 cars, which made that model the fourth most common Å koda car.'

Anyone ever driven a Serena?

Yes, several times and I have to say it was a perfectly good people carrier, it drove well and felt fine. Why should a people carrier need to accelerate like shit off a shovel anyway?

It was only the diesel serena that was slow, there was a 2L petrol that would do 0-60 in 12.5 seconds, what more would you want from a people carrier?

When I took my GCSEs I had left the Anthology I needed at home and brought the wrong one with me.  Irrelevant to this thread, you might think, but a teacher with a Serena got me home and back to school in time for me to take my GCSE in English and pass with an above average grade.  If it weren't for that Serena I might've had to resit my exam, so thank you, Nissan, for saving my teenage bacon.

It was also Japanese and rear wheel drive, and we all know what that means

I believe the more precise terminology would be OMG JDM RWD DRIFT TOUGE D1 TOP SECRET NOT AE86 SILVIA YO

I drove a Vanette Cargo, which is like a big-arse Serena. Even as a 2CVer, the Nissan felt hopelessly slow, though it would top 80mph if you could find a stretch of road long enough. It also oversteered hilariously if it was slightly damp. Not a bad old truck really.

The Citroen Pluresy is still a disgrace to motoring, PT Cruisers are the pits, the City Rover was actually pretty dreadful, the Suzuki X-90 remains pointless, the Lexus doesn't inspire any words at all, the Carisma definitely lacks it.

The only three I'd want is the Move (which admittedly has more headroom than even a Queen's guard would want, in his silly hat), the Avantime (which was a flop, has many foibles yet is brilliant) and the Skoda (now getting annoyingly pricey for what is still a crap car. Why are crap cars getting so expensive?!)

Avantime - basically deemed 'worst car' because it didn't look/sell like every other car because it's price was recouping the build cost.

You could say 'oh, good'. You know, like you say when you bite in one of those dreary digestive biscuits you get with your fairtrade Latte in one of those newfangled cafes that have the ambiance of a Lexus.

There was nowt wrong with a Skoda 120 in 1988. Probably the best buy of the Communist motors on offer.
It says grim handling but I would say they just handle differently being rear engined RWD.

More shit journalism.
