My mate rolled his Regal van and it disintegrated, he left through the drivers door, without opening it, his toolbox and a truck battery missed him by inches and if it had gone over once more it would have scraped him into the road.

 

Another mate was told to carry some concreat slabs for stability, not a good idea when you tip it and they land on you causing lots of broken bits!

 

Fact most three wheelers are directionally unstable!

It is funny when tripods trip up (personal injury free of course) but I have seen one nearly fall over in both directions at once.   A Scanny with 40ft tilt backed into one at work many years ago and opened it up along what presumably was a mould join (or just shit fibreglass) and the resultant two halves of the front bodywork dropped to the floor each side of the stupid front wheel.   Only the pig metal hinges on the pissflap of a bonnet stopped it from being really funny.

Porsche sorted the handling out on later ones (late 80's onwards), with sophisticated multi-link suspension to cater for the 'engine over the axle' thing. When people say about them being terrifying, they have probably never driven one.

 

PLAUSIBLE:

 

MGF's overheating problem is primarily due to airlocks in the cooling system due to infrequent coolant changes, and incorrect filling 'techniques'.

 

CONFIRMED:

 

The Vauxhall Astra VXR had it's central tail pipe installed, because engine and gearbox was not tow tested, therefore making towing an impossibility.
