Mini classic auto - the pain starts here

As per my first post a week or so ago, I really appreciated you all welcoming me and advising me so clearly and unanimously against buying an auto mini as an au pair's run-about.

This evening I picked up a cheap and grotty 1993 mini sprite auto from north kent. It was a hoot to drive home ( well, except for the heater being partially stuck on) and nothing broke, leaked or fell off

Stand by for months of harmless entertainment to while away the long winter evenings as I show how right you all were

Good luck, you might need it. Have you got any pics of the Mini?

You live in Clapham, have an au pair, drive a range rover, and buy cheap death traps like this? The reason they stopped making them was because they don't comply with modern safety standards, and if you leave it on the street instead of a garage you'll be able to watch it dissolve the first time a gritting lorry goes past this winter. They are now a classic really, not an everyday. You should have bought a micra!

What ? No horror stories about the rear subframe detaching itself from the rest of the car at 70MPH on the M2 ? No heroic tales of how you bodged it back together on the hard shoulder, under torrential rain, using only a swiss army knife, bubblegum and tie wraps ? Well, it must be a concours example then !

Looking forward to pics and further updates on your 'ownership experience' !

Hooray! What piss poor and half arsed modifications has the previous owner done to it?

The 'no leaks' bit is rather unsettling though and usually a sign that there aren't any liquids left in it. I strongly recommend checkage and top-uppage.

When are you going to post a picture of the Oh-Bare?

You don't seem to understand Autoshite.

Pictures of this Mini please so I can remind myself how much I like them (when I don't have to own, work on or drive them!)

In no particular order;

A chequered roof wrap that was done by a blind chap with Parkinson's

A NSF front wing that was sprayed with a rattle can by the same chap who put the roof wrap on

Centrally exiting tailpipe

I'm sure I'll find plenty more

So... has the au pair done something terrible?

Those mods sound promisingly shite.

Now I'm not sure what I'd like to see first - a photo of the Mini or the pair-of-ohs.

I can't comment on the wing considering the rattlecan bodge jobs I've been responsible for in the past.

I don't think the guy who did it realized you're supposed to let the isopon set first......

So... has the au pair done something terrible?

I'm sure it's only a matter of time...

I've seen documentaries about au pairs who get punished for doing terrible things.

Anyway. Minis. Are there any "amusing" fanatical stickers, like "Sell my mini? I'd rather bend down and pick the soap up in prison!!!" or the ilk? Is it badged as something it's not, i.e. wearing Cooper stickers to go alongside the auto box? Does it have additional front lighting? An extra, fake, fuel filler? If not these must be added immediately so they can be removed in disgust.

Oh we'd really like pics of the au pair doing something naughty....... sorry, someone mention a Mini? I was distracted.

Au pair...... pictures........please and of the Mini if you really, really have to.

I understand Autoshite ok, and I love Minis. I've had 3 over the years, 2 of them autos. They are very quirky but are no longer common, and I think all the points I made are very relevant.

And please post a pic of the au pair bending over to put something on the back seat.

Pictures of the back seat may be more appropriate on here. Any requests for pics of the au pair are possibly* just spam.

Pics of the spam please.

Spam being pink meat from an unknown source?

Rinse out your mouth with soap Mr Poohpeas!

Sorry, there's one important thing missing from this thread:

Ooooh MATRON!!!!!!1!1111!1!!

Thanks for the pics of the Mini Ben but you juts had to go and rub it in didn't you. Umm, that may have not been such a good turn of phrase given the low moral standard of this thread.
