Another cheat, these aren't even in Scotland! I spotted these just over the border into Northumberland.

I was heading down to the car show in Belford this morning, as documented in Garbaldy's thread, and I passed this pub with quite the collection outsidepost-4295-0-98481400-1555882096_thumb.jpegpost-4295-0-71899600-1555882257_thumb.jpegpost-4295-0-50909700-1555882270_thumb.jpegpost-4295-0-44052500-1555882283_thumb.jpegpost-4295-0-15017500-1555882303_thumb.jpegpost-4295-0-15032700-1555882160_thumb.jpegpost-4295-0-23555900-1555882234_thumb.jpeg

I remember when that red 240 J165JYS was on the road. It was owned by someone along in Greengairs.

Took the kids to Summerlee museum in Coatbridge today, some nice cars on show and a good place to tire the kids out!

Few spots from the same street. The Citroen looked like it was someone’s daily, in slightly shabby but solid condition, just lovely!

The day after I took the photos above, the local paper tweeted about a crash just round the corner. Sad reacts only ☹️FF35F90F-49C7-4F3D-AE4A-071C96DD40CC.thumb.jpeg.099b529d40d66d2b7527c9d1e448cf2b.jpeg

Ah yes I saw that in the news. What the heck happened there? Can't quite work out from those photos what kind of car it was either...

Posted

I know, at first I though someone had come out a side street but it looks more like head on? It’s a E30 BMW 3 series, shame but it looks like it did it’s job well

Posted

That 3 series is well fucked. ☹️ Hope whoever was driving got out in one piece.

Didn't Robbie Coltrane used to knock about in an old Citroen Light 15?

Is that Porty high street? Never known anything be able to get up to any reasonable speed there with the traffic!

(Also, 20mph being 'reasonable', absolutely, of course!)

Posted

It is and you’re right, it’s always busy there! 20mph speed limits... that could be a thread in its own right!

They've also knocked down the limit on the Braid Hills between Morningside and Liberton to 40 - used to be NSL and a great little road. I know LRT were complaining that the limits were ridiculous which is amusing given that they're a council subsidiary!

Posted

Not to mention Glasgow Road, which is now 40mph all the way to Newbridge because someone's decided they need a "toucan" pedestrian/bicycle crossing half way along the bit that used to be NSL...

Hard to see in my rubbish pictures, but the metro (ok, 100) is looking a bit pissed, needs a wee pump up. It’s been sitting for ages, no wonder at £2000! It’s called Bargain Autos as well... they do have interesting stuff lying around though

The Skoda intrigues me as it’s MOT’d but never seems to move. There’s a thread recently started about leaving a note enquiring about a car, I’ve thought about doing that here a few times!

The Rover and Saab have been slowly decaying there for years. Here's a shite drive-by shot I took of them in 2017, when the Rover's headlights had been removed for some reason.
