andy18s Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Anyone that fancies it, we may be doing a SF international in Bulgaria. I will be coming home with Wartburg ...In Sofia district The Moog 1
Inspector Morose Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Yup, polo 1.1 gearbox too. Just right for revving the tits off while progressing slowly to the UK. The late two strokes had a similar front as they had a front mounted radiator. And, of course, are much better than these. The Moog and chaseracer 2
Six-cylinder Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Anyone that fancies it, we may be doing a SF international in Bulgaria. I will be coming home with Wartburg ... This is not out of the question as I have a big X0 birthday coming up next year and what better way to celebrate! Bucketeer, KruJoe and The Moog 3
andy18s Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 If you have emission related concerns with the VW engine, how's about something that's wood-burner powered....... The Moog, Inspector Morose, DVee8 and 1 other 4
Bucketeer Posted August 5, 2017 Author Posted August 5, 2017 That's me, so I'm delurking to let you know (as if it matters!) that I love this thread. And I want to move to Bulgaria. Some of the time. So thank you and please don't stop. -S I feel a bit honoured that you've broken out the delurkage to post that. Thank you, it's much appreciated. As mentioned, flights to BG are dirt cheap so you should get yourself over. If you want any insider info or whatever then feel free to message me. Also, this made me laugh: (Booze stuff) Unfortunately I was only slightly joking about 47% booze being a steady all day drink. Bulgarian drinking is different level. My best friend there, whenever she is offered beer or wine or similar, always replies 'no thanks, I don't do soft drinks'. just how long was that walk? The town was about 70km away. My walk could have been a bit more or less than that, but I don't really know as I'm not sure of the route I took. Before I started this thread I had walked from France to Bulgaria and then during the thread have walked most of France, some of Turkey and across Cyprus, but that 70km hurt me as much as, if not more than, anything. I'm getting old. Anyone that fancies it, we may be doing a SF international in Bulgaria. I will be coming home with Wartburg ... Yes. Yes you will. Current stocks are as follows.(excuse phone screenshots, it was easier) The bottom end of the market, these three are at around £200 - I really like this one but it's possibly priced a bit strong at around £500 - I've never seen one of these old Warts before. This is 1969 and hugely salty at about £1600 - But they all pale into insignificance compared to this £300 beauty with tidemarks courtesy of Pablo Picasso - Finally, back on the thread. I have to apologise in advance for any forthcoming lack of interesting content. I seem to have developed a girlfriend in the UK so probably won't be resuming travels for a bit. I'm sure I'll find some old crap to post in the meantime though. Junkman, Skizzer, The Moog and 3 others 6
andy18s Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Just popped up to post that pick up ad upDoes looks bit "special"....And look at what you're leaving behind, with near 40's the week after
Bucketeer Posted December 24, 2017 Author Posted December 24, 2017 Since I last posted on this thread I have developed a steady job and a relatively steady girlfriend and all that shizz so UK spots will have to do for now, until one or many more things in my life go horribly wrong/right and I hit the road again. I've done a couple of autosolo events since I've been back in the UK. I plenty much enjoy it. A couple of my favourite autosolo entrants. I bought a Citroen AX for future autosoloing but fell in love with it, so I decided to keep the AX for best and buy something else small and zippy for race hoonery. . . . . . . so I bought an auto V6 SAAB floppytop, OBVS. This means that I still need to buy a small, zippy car. Or a van. Or an estate. Or a track car. Or a Vauxhall. For a month in the autumn, Moog kindly let me borrow his Vel Satis (which is now in the deserving hands of Mr D.Barefoot Esq). Spotted in Arundel. Spotted in Camberley. I like to think that the 'N' reg is the regular transport and the 'M' reg is the weekend classic. Spotted in Penge. Spotted in Accrington. Spotted from the cab of a removal truck. Some of these pictures are rubbish, and some are worse than that. I'm a fairly regular Wetherspoons botherer and was in their Guildford establishment recently. Turns out, the building was previously the first Dennis factory, looking like this. I took a few pictures of some of the history displayed on the walls, apparently just of a bad enough quality that they can't be read. And to finish, some full on barrel scraping with pics a friend sent me months ago of a vehicle for sale on the street next to his in Doncaster. Jim Bergerac, Junkman, mercrocker and 8 others 11
hairnet Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 go back to accrington and ask about that 128 is it for sale
quicksilver Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Something for everyone there. That pickup looks suspiciously like a Volkswagen Taro
Bucketeer Posted December 24, 2017 Author Posted December 24, 2017 That pickup looks suspiciously like a Volkswagen Taro When I took the picture it was because it looked like an L200 or summat with a VW badge, which was odd. Looking at the picture today, I had doubts and thought it was probably a caddy pickup.
Zelandeth Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Really do like the look of those Wartburgs...never really noticed them before... Ladas and Skodas are something I'm well used to...reckon one of them or a Trabant has to be on the cards at some point...
Bucketeer Posted July 29, 2018 Author Posted July 29, 2018 I've not been aboard this thread in a while, however I recently downloaded a Firefox plugin that restores all Photobucket linked pictures so I can remind myself of all the shit I'd forgotten I did over the past few years of traveling. Most of the pictures on here have long since been deleted from memory cards so it's a godsend to be honest.Anyway, to celebrate this, I'm dumping my backload of spots from the last few months of UK Normal Life. Some are rubbish. Some are far worse than that. Enjoy. I tried to have a chat with the old deaf chap who owned this Shuttle."I like your car""Pardon""Your car is nice, I like it""Oh my car, do you like it""Yes, very much. How long have you had it?""It's a Honda"etc. I've been trying to encourage the girlfriend's inner spotter to flourish. The next three are from her. Room for improvement but solid work. I was drawn to this VW purely because the bodywork mod at the front made it look (to me) a bit like a UAZ 452. RobT will try and photobomb anything, the attention whore. This thing appeared round the corner from our house recently. Curtain twitching levels increased dramatically. And this Dutton Phaeton has been littering the neighbourhood recently too. I moved a nice old boy recently. I didn't have to drive the truck and the job was near home so I just took my car straight there.Turns out the guy has a little bit of a thing for 205s. Mine is on the left. Oh and he has EIGHT other 205s. Five of them autos. Most were in storage but there were a couple more gems at his house. And that's about it for now I reckon. RobT Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 Excellent stuff, the Commer camper in particular is just perfect. I've no idea why I was looking under the Imp. Pretending to know something probably.
Junkman Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 That '57 Chevy looks delightfully out of place.Don't cars get homesick?
Mrs6C Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 Your good lady photographed a C15, so obviously she is in the top league of spotters already!
Bucketeer Posted November 28, 2019 Author Posted November 28, 2019 Absolutely no-one might remember this Mazda 929 which has featured irregularly on this thread, on my camera lens, and in my soggy dreams. On 4/23/2015 at 12:59 PM, Bucketeer said: I know the neighbour of the guy who owns this 929 that has featured here previously. It has moved a couple of times in the past year apparently. It's bloody lovely but likely to be far too much dolla for me. Measures taken - phone number left with neighbour to pass on to owner. Well, blow my cotton socks down with a feather, it's only bloody up for sale finally! Four and a half years too late and ten hundred thousand times too expensive though. And it hasn't aged particularly well. Then again, neither have I. https://m.mobile.bg/details/11560774903729980 RobT, loserone, jumpingjehovahs and 3 others 6
