Concept shite

What's amazing about those Syd Mead drawings is that they would have most likely been done with lighter fuel, magic markers, possibly a little bit of airbrush, and white chalk for highlights. Possibly even gouache. All the skill has gone out of the design business now, with any talentless git jumping on a mac and calling themselves creative.

Yeah, and the newfangled cars reflect this.

BTW, I'm amazed how his red sports car predicts the Plymouth Prowler.

Rover 800 Cabrio, which looked a little too "Chrysler" for my liking.

Another form of the 800 Coupe:

Final form of the 800 Coupe with interesting SD1-like alloys

It would have come with this interior:

I wonder why they didn't use that interior? I really like it.

I want one of these...

I don't care that there's no place to put an engine or luggage or steering wheel (apparently). I want it now.

1964 rear engined Corvette. Looks like stylists liked some of it, the 1967 C3 has more than a hint.

That rear engined Corvette reminds me of Chaparral race cars...

It looks like the love child of a 7 series and an X300.

Or possibly a Kia Magentis with aTatra style, budget facelift.

Toyota RV-2 answers all the questions I have about wanting a camper van that looks and drives like a car and isn't gopping. It's annoying taking a trip to really scenic areas, driving along deserted rural roads and having to do so in our most unwieldy vehicle. I'd buy one:

It's a real shame that Lancia didn't make that Fulvia concept. Fiat's 127 is pretty too.

The Chrysler Norseman. Built by Ghia in 1956 and never shown to the public, due to it being in the cargo hold of the SS Andrea Doria when it sank:

Probably why so many have died diving to the wreck.
