I never bother with seal kits and just reuse the old ones. On mine they twist a bit where they stick to the piston so I invert them and they twist back in use.

Normally wouldn't bother either but the dust seals on all the stuck pistons fell apart on removal....

Some of the pistons are a bit marked where clearly an idiot has previously removed them with pliers

I'm running mine with some dust seals missing. My calipers are famous for sticky pistons and 11 times out of 10 it's the dust seals at fault. But I see you're point if yours are that bad.

With the pistons if the damage is above the fluid seal you could just smooth them off but I suspect you've thought of that too.

Actually I'm just after looking at them and all damage is above the fluid seal.....

£50 will get me all this, including new nipples / caliper half seals etc:

I'll take some before and after pics so you can see just how horrible these calipers are!!

Have you checked genuine prices? They used to be cheaper than that, I could be well out of date nowadays though.

I'm bunging my CBX750F in for an MOT today, prior to Storming the Castle near Durham at the end of the month.

PRACE BETS, etc.

Anyone heard of or used Ragged Moto who advertise fork rebuilds on eBay?

Didn't bother my arse because lazy, but I've used this seller before and been happy with the quality so no concerns.

Ordered gold paint, OEM are grey so a bit of a departure and possibly too bling but we shall see.....

Out for a run before the sun got too hot, only 34°c at lunchtime

That looks the sort of place you could have a really quick accident on a YZ490 or CR500.

Any big bawl two strokes for sale locally.....

^ That looks like a good place for a trail bike.

Tbh the whole countryside is wide open for off road tomfoolery

As long as you don't take the piss and go screaming through farmer Ivani's crop of lavender then no one gives a shit

Unregistered 'cossers are everwhere

If the five-oh show an interest then the just take off across a field or 3

Few big bore 2 strokes about but fetch decent prices

Ktm's are the tool to have it seems, most probably pinched from somewhere though

Rode into Kosovo from Montenegro via the Kula Pass. Stunning views from the top over looking Kosovo.

The ride into Prizren was interesting-noticed loads of scrap yards along the way, no doubt filled with cars crashed near to them-we saw a few very close ones.

More crappy cars here than in the rest of the Balkans, many held together with a wing and a prayer. Not seen many bikes at all, despite the roads being fantastic and empty outside of the main towns.

No biking today due to severe hangover from the bar crawl yesterday evening until the small hours of the morning....post-19526-0-90028900-1534511580_thumb.jpg

changed the tyres on my NC700 today - that's 8 weeks since the last change!!

did the oil and filter too. need to order another bulk 20L oil can.

I changed mine on the MT09 on Thurs, 1600 miles from a set is a bit rich.

Posted

At least you two get to wear yours out before they fall apart on you.

A mate and i bought a used tyre machine, it's helping to keep costs low and beats trying to do tyres by hand.

Moto Guzzi more reliable than Suzuki, as said by no one ever before.  :-D  :-D

I saw a couple of those Guzzi Norge about, they seemed to ride well from what I saw. I'm not sure I could own a fairing again though, horrible things to ride behind when it's warm & somehow no dryer in the rain.

Proof is it's exhaust fumes that turns you 'hairnet'.

I usually do my own but it's a brand new bike and I always scratch the wheels at least once so had to pony up the £40 for the bike shop to do them, I generally only do a set a year so it's not so bad, I don't have space for a proper machine.

I've got a neighbour that orders my tyres trade then fits & balances them for free :)

Not sure I put these up. The entire 'medium' section of this tyre delaminated on the RH side. I didn't get pics but the inside of the tyre looked like a bubble all the way around and I could poke my finger under the rubber through every tear.9b19e7f83da597d41e2788ed75fe2df0.jpg02747a2f3ceec131937813d187ffdd9c.jpg03166b64e350d99d45746d9f9265a75e.jpg
