One thing I forgot, some hero was riding the Hardknott pass on a C90.

Both good bikes and very affordable at present. ZZR is a distance bike. Not earth shattering performance but comfy, and a tad dated now. Thundercat uses slightly more modern technology, and was the forerunner to the R6. YZF thundercat is quite a capable machine, and definitely more chuckable than the zed. I'd have the cat

Much my own thoughts so the written off Sprint RS from a few pages back is being replaced with a 1999 T-cat. 14500 miles from new and looks tidy, in pics, and the seller sounds a good guy.

Only 560 miles away too.....

The sports tourer.....well, it should be but hey, last hurrah and all that.

Who's up for a day out?

Might start a thread...?

Gsxr1000's of that age are a proper hairy chested bike, the chassis can handle the power but the brakes are pants, one of my mates had one and it kept me very honest on my newish R1, until it came to stopping!

Day out you say? Colour me interested although I can't work out your location as I'm shit at reading in accents.

Looks like a Bridgestone 021, best thing for them & they probably handle better like that.

I'd say turn it over it's only flat at the bottom, but we all know punctures are heavier than air & always fall down to the lowest point.

Bewdley, as in the Severn Valley Railway and the slightly oddly named West Midlands Safari Park.

Work in Worcester, not far from the Sauce Mine.

And yes, brakes seem a bit powerless/slightly lacking in bite. Rest of it is far better than I am these days. Should have bought the xx Blackbird..... Nah....

It's a real place???

Looks ideally suited for an attack on Wales.

Run to Borth, Barmouth, A5 corridor, Knighton, Rhayader etc..

120 miles for me to get there, worth it if we get a few turning up.

Well lets see if we can get a few to turn up, I'm easy with distance.

There's been a TDM on Facebook for £500 in Woking, I've resisted so far but am weakening.

When I was a newish rider, I used to take my L-plates off and go on the M8 Erskine to Edinburgh (and deal with fannies on that, plus it was hard work overtaking lorries). Never got caught. :)

It wasn't fun though, but then it beat having to go through Bathgate...

Having seized an RD350LC on a totally empty dual carriage way and left a 40 foot long skid Mark in rubber, at a velocity that was a little more than 69 mph I became a little scared of traveling on a motorway in the outside lane with cars 3 foot behind me.

They all do that Sir, make sure to grab the clutch next time :)

The classic sign of an experienced two-stroke rider, left hand hovering over the clutch lever!!!!

The important question is who is more annoying? Them or the ones who say 'I'd get a bike but I'd kill myself'.

That's me. I last had a bike in 1988.

in 2002 i nearly bought a gsx750R to comute on but wrote off my car and thought it not a responsible thing to do with 2 kids and a wife to support.

Then the in 2016 I was really going to buy a bike. Something big enough to take my wife on the back of. Then she was diagnosed with slipped discs and fussed vertebrates and could hardly travel in the car so I wasn't going to be taking her on the back of a bike.

Now when I think about having a bike I'm thinking "if I died, who would take care of......my wife, my mum.....my cat etc "

proper cowardly I am

I was too busy trying to hang on. I managed to pull the clutch at about 25 mph.

The black line lasted a few years.

Nah that's different.

I thinking of the billy* bullshitters who've never sat on a bike but claim they'd ride like Mike Hailwood.

Nothing wrong with your considerations NewPod.

I thought the same, but divorced the wife, abandoned the kids, and so I no longer worry about them when riding my bike.

I genuinely should be fuking ashamed of myself. I've this two years.... and haven't ridden it since the ride home from buying it!

What a dick!

Anyhoo.... being collected tomorrow. Bit of tlc and mot... actually can't wait now to get it back!
