Alvis TD21? Summit like that; not over restored. Funny bloke in a Saab 9000 parked behind.

TE or TF; TD was single headlight(which I prefer tbh). I think the E/F had moar powr too.

Mk.1 Fiesta spotted by horse:

Are you allowed to take pictures with your mobile while driving a horse or is it ok so long as the horse in stationary with the handbrake on?

Horse was stationary on level ground and in neutral.

Also, behind us was a dead end.

Hampstead.

So many estates of that era were really odd-looking but that's a very handsome beast.

A genuine, red, 'R'-reg Robin Reliant :)

Haven't seen one actually being driven for years.  Washington Galleries area.

It certainly is. I owned a saloon version years ago (inherited from my grandad) and loved it. Yet another in the "cars I've owned and should have kept" category.

Zagreb has a brand new, state of the art airport terminal but they obviously ran out of money at the end as they're still using these to move the luggage trolleys around

And a couple of oddities that don't really fit anywhere else.

Never seen horizontal traffic lights before.

And this is the view from the front of a tram. I really don't know how this got here without driving along the tracks.

That looks like a Euro "Mondial"-type head with 300mm diameter aspects.

Switzerland has horizontal signals at some major junctions, generally paired with overhead gantry signs. Horizontal signals also pretty much standard in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and elsewhere. Used to be common in Malaysia until LED signals came along.

Should we start a traffic light thread?

I like it here. No matter how obscure a subject appears to be, someone knows all about it. Even subjects that normal people would consider nerdy or sad. Like traffic lights. It had never even occurred to me that someone might know the exact make of a traffic light but now it seems obvious that somebody has to.

The horizontal ones were mostly at major junctions in built up areas as they hung them from wires strung between buildings particularly where there were already tram catenary strung from the same wires.

I used to collect all sorts of UK and Euro signal heads. The ones I really want are the French designs which are an entire art form by themselves, particularly the Feu de Paris made by Grolleau,

but they are really difficult to find.

Sorry but that bugs me - you don't say Escort Ford or 205 Peugeot do you, so why does everyone get this wrong?

And yes please to whoever suggested a traffic light thread.

That has been there for years, I used to see it move occasionally about 12 years ago and it didn't look much better then. Hasn't turned a wheel in at least 10 years I'd guess.

Just remembered that there's a Bedford CF AutoTrail camper parked up not far from here that I really need to snap a photo of at some point. Being parked up next to a busy road doesn't help though!

Was easy to spot this one...was a very big crane removing a very big tower crane from a site. The centre tower is made up of 3 huge hydraulic rams - with enormous counterweights at the back. All fold down into one vehicle.
