Sorry I had to push off early. Combination of bad weather, restless kids and holiday packing meant I couldn't stay as long as I'd have liked.

Good to catch up with the few I did catch up with, and good to meet a couple of new faces. Hopefully we can do another one this summer.

Yes on the subject of cms206's car park shennanigans...

Yes there is a video and I will deal with it's upload tomorow hopefully. There is also a rather jolly film of a blue 1.3 Cavvy that can backfire to order :)

And I must say what a top day out with a bunch of top blokes!

Hairnet's pub suggestion was perfect by Autoshite standards, too. It had plenty of space for the cars and no other customers!

Hey did anyone get any photos of that Invicta? What a spectacular motor.

I did! It looked bloody ace.

Finally made it home about an hour ago. One small drama on the way back up when the wiper arm came loose in the pissing rain... Then the fuel pump relay did the same...

Thanks to Billy for organising us and to my fellow Scotoshiters for waiting when I went to the wrong meeting place...

It was great meeting folks and putting a face to the user name!

*Edit: Captain Cock Chops (the announcer) excelled himself with another gem this year:

CC: 'Oh, how unusual to see a Chevrolet* with an engine in the back!'

Owner: 'That's because it's not a Chevrolet'

Everyone else: MASSIVE LOL

*It might not have been Chevrolet, but you get the point.

It was a Chevy but he called it a CORVETTE as opposed to CORVAIR.

Great to meet everyone and put faces to names; and to see such 'famous' cars in the metal.

That rear engined Corvette announcement was followed by a brief summary of Ralph Nader's career.

CC: I don't think he achieved very much, did he?

Owner: Well, yes, he did actually.

I see both myself and Mr Bollox have managed to lurk in the background of some of those Invicta shots. That was definitely car of the show for me. If that really is the only saloon of that type built, then it's the one featured in the mighty A-Z of cars 1945-1970. The specification is ludicrous and originally included an infinitely variable 'hydro-kinetic turbo transmitter' rather than a proper gearbox. This was rubbish and replaced in this one by a Jaguar gearbox in the 1950s.

Fact. One of the backers of Invicta was Mr Lyle of Tate and Lyle.

Nice that, I missed it. :(

Anyway, yesterdays weather finally turned up!!

My driver side windscreen wiper made a bid for freedom on the A59 near Skipton. Had it have happened on the M60 Manchester ring road I promise you: a lot of people would have died. What a fucking mental bit of road that was in the heaviest rain so far this year.

Has anyone heard from GaryCox? Has he got home yet? It's a bloody long way back to Brighton in a beige four-speed Maestro only running on three.
