slid off a country lane and into a dry stone wall in my 86 saab 900 8v turbo C917NEW. I straightened the crumpled front end out with a chain and a bollard and a sledge hammer, and carried on driving it about for some months untill the MOT lapsed. Tough old beast!

I've had a few people run into me including being T boned in a company car on my first day. Spun off a couple of times, once due to aquaplaning on a torrent of water on a hill near Cadwell Park and once when a b****** farmer pulled across in front of me and the CRX ended in a hedge. Had there been any other traffic around who knows what might have happened as I was doing 50 - 60 in each case and thank fook I hit the hedge rather than the massive tree 3 feet to the side. Fukking twat never even stopped and Plod was less than helpful.

Put my mums Rover R8 214 in a shallow ditch after about 7 days licence, managed to get it out without parents finding out, thankfully.

First car I wrote off was a Nissan Micra K11 - a purple pov spec 'Shape' model. It was like less than 5k on the clock and was written off because the factory had just changed the shell for the mildly facelifted one in mid 98.

It was my first company car, for the Hartwell dealership group. Checked it on the DVLA website a year ago after I found the reg number and it had been exported in 2010, someone must have jigged it and put it back on the road.

The first motor I bashed was my Dad's company Citroen C15 van. It was a month old and at the time I was doing some work with my dad to earn some pocket money. I was asked to turn it around on a customers drive to allow us to load some shite into the back more easily. The drive was very steep and narrow, I got first and reverse mixed up and went flat out backwards down the hill and into the side of the house. The damage to the house was zero, and luckily the customer wasn't in but the C15 had the drivers rear quarter wiped out, lights smashed, huge ripples down the side, even the rear door was at an odd angle and wouldn't close. It was difficult to explain to the boss as I was only 15 at the time, so Dad took the rap for it!

Driving in to Milngavie out the North side of Glasgow in my mum's Metro GTA, when a truck coming towards me on a bad bend hit my A Pillar and flicked me off a drop of about 8 feet. The car cartwheeled down the field and then came to rest upside down in a shallow river.

Hard to believe, but the car was sold off by the insurer then jigged and put back on the road. I was amazed at how little damage there was.

You live and learn.

I stuffed my mate's LR 109 into a dry stone wall back in 2002 and bent the wing. I thought I'd be clever and slide it through the gateposts, but this didn't happen.

Fortunately, Colin didn't give a shit.

February 1984, Hillman Super Minx EFN 636C. I'd had a full licence 3 weeks. Dual carriageway Uxbridge Road. Slough, roughly 6pm. Lady changed lanes in front of me in a Yellow Chevette, (PYE 378R) I hit her car, pushed her into a Tuscan Beige Mk2 Escort, which hit a Harvest Gold Mini, which bonged into a truck. I gave all the other peeps a lift home after pushing the cars into a pub car park (The Dolphin).... Some years later, my Mother moved house, and when I went for a first visit, I thought I recognised a neighbour. It was Chevette Lady, and she had married a bloke with a Black and Gold (I think) Lotus Elan. He was sound as a pound, and even enlisted my help (And his other mates) to lift the body and roll the chassis out... I wonder what their names are, and if they have heard of this forum?

Wow Memory recall tonight is gr8!

Land rover 88" S2a. I had to crash it 4 times before it died.

First one low speed into a dry stone wall. Looking for somewhere and not looking where I was going. New wing required.

2nd hit black ice, followed by golf mk3 coming the other way. Bumper straightening, new steering drop arm.

3rd, went into back of a pug, brakes failed. New not shitpart brake master cylinder required.

4th, T boned by a giffer in a micra. Got rolled into a lamp post. 1 door was the only surviving straight panel. Stripped it for bits, most still in my shed now.

Back in 1991 I was working in a travel agents and was late for work and I drove my Fiesta into the back of a bus whilst applying my spot cream and tending to my Jason Donovan hairstyle. I was only insured third party so I'm still paying for it now hence the fact I'm driving this tatty Mini Metro....

XBD 927W, Dad's green Solara, borrowed to go to 6th Form one morning in 1988. I passed my test 2 weeks earlier and didn't quite make it round a mini roundabout in Wolverton without clipping the front corner of a Fiesta. After swapping details I drove to school, the lady I just hit then pulled in next to me in the car park and then I realised she was a teacher.

Dad didn't bother getting the Solara repaired and pretty soon traded it in for a pov-spec Fiat Regata C44 WLC

Heh....Just came across this:

....Aforementioned BX, post accident! :(

I only crash BMWs.

First was a 118D Sport, I managed to get the front end over one of those hydraulically raising traffic-control bollards, and it rose; right through the front bumper narrowly missing the plumbing.

Then I rammed my Z4 2.5Si into the back of an Audi A6, all because the Audi had the sheer nerve to stop at the approach to a fast, clear roundabout that I've never, ever seen anyone stop at before or since.

In 2001 Rolled my 1996 XJ6 Exec on the A19 after loosing the back end in the snow attempting to overtake a Mini Metro. £9k the insurance paid for the repair that took the 'specialists 3 months to complete. They gave me a Nissan Micra for the duration with keep fit windows.

Only hit one thing - Citroen AX (H281YGW - still got it) when driving about 6 months on a lad's weekend down in Cornwall got lost did a three point turn in a country land as as the car was rammed full of stuff didn't see the gate post, had to adjust the bumper.

2 non-fault accident within a month in 2005 in Nuneaton, same Citroen was rammed up the arse at a roundabout by some dope in an MGTF. Didn't go though insurance as I didn't want the car written off, cost £30 to have the rear panel pushed out (insurance quote £1,500+).

Then on way to work in the first Allegro (a £200 Russet Brown one FTW) after I overtook a parked bin lorry a builder in a Freelander pulled out of his driveway (Forwards!) straight into the side of me, pushed me into the other side of the road, massive dent in the door and rear wing, fortuantly no suspension damage. Paid £300 by the builder to not go through his company insurance, got a free door and spend £10 on filler and aerosol paint. Mrs the Princess was on BBC WM's news at the Longbridge centernary , looked like she was polising the car, actually flatting back the aerosol paint

My lovely, beautiful Escort Si back in 2000, I had started a job at a motor factors only a few weeks earlier and one afternoon all the vans were out and a customer rang in a flap needing some parts, the manager told me that i had to do the delivery in my car which i said no too, so he threatened me with the sack, me being young and new to the job panicked so I done the for mentioned delivery only to have a Renault 21 savanna pull out in front of me on the way back.

I was gutted, the shit hit the fan at work, literally, the assistant manager went mental at my manager and threw stuff at him, then a computer and a cup of tea, the big boss had to come down and it all got very messy, I did get a works van permanently afterwards though and a big apology, It also got me into shite cars as i had to buy a Sierra then a Fiesta then get about whilst the insurance sorted, which took a year...

How long did you have it for after it was sorted ? I see it was still 'alive' until earlier this year anyway

I was amazed it lasted that long too, It sat in the yard of the bodyshop I used to work for for about 6 months before they got fed up with it and I towed it back to my dad's were it sat for another 6 months, The insurance company made the mistake of not telling me that I could have sold it or had it repaired months before, I kept asking them and they said I had to wait, The person dealing with the claim didn't know what they were doing, lesson learned now.

In the end i fitted some bald 13" wheels of my Sierra as I wanted to keep my alloys, the bodyshop kept the body spoiler as storage payment and I stuck it in Exchange & Mart, It had been sat a year and looked really sad for it's self and this big Rastafarian drove up from Walthamstow at 12am one night to collect it and drove it home, no tax, MOT or rear lights as well as those dodgy wheels, that's why I'm amazed it's lasted so long!.

My dad's green Viva HC on a driving lesson in 1987. He wanted me to practice parking and I backed into a just restored Cortina mark 2. Being a 'shitter' at heart that was something I have always felt guilty about. No damage was done to the sturdy Viva by the way...

My 206 W636OAU. Been driving for a month, was out with 2 friends in the wet, the first wet spell for a few months. Went around a familiar roundabout, but changed my mind about the exit (first stupid mistake) so turned for another one. The ditchfinders slipped, and we are going slightly sideways towards a crash barrier. I can't correct it, we hit the barrier with the front passenger corner, and ride along it for a few metres before stopping.

I drove it off the road onto the grass, then got out and promptly broke down in shock and anger about breaking my car! Got my stepdad out who pulled some plastic off and got a passenger to drive it home.

That weekend (I'd calmed down by this point), I stripped it down, repaired the bumper with lots of cable ties, bodged it back together and drove it for a few months

then went on ebay about bought new parts, drove over to a friends and with the help of a machete and sledgehammer got it fixed up a bit more

Luckily (I suppose) it caught fire and got binned before the MOT, I reckon I'd have had issues! However, lessons learnt that night and there's a big black mark on the barrier to remind me whenever I drive past it.
