I've followed this fairly closely, it is a "proposal", it is not statute law, and is never likely to be. It is an attempt to standardise, and possibly prohibite the after market supply, and fitting, of parts, which will not happen, far too many jobs are at stake........oh, and by the way, I resent being told that I "must" sign anything

I did do a petition about the use of cluster bombs by the UK and they 'apparently' stopped using them and I got an email from the prime minister about it.

Actually, to be fair, that e-petition is actually very well balanced and one of the most reasonable things I've read on this subject, so I signed it. It's not saying OMG U R REELY BAD GUBBERMINT, CANCEL EVERYTHING, just raising some very valid concerns. If it raises the profile of classic vehicle ownership then fair play.

A polite and well reasoned post, drawing our collective attention to said petition would have been fine. They whole "you must sign, it's for your own good" approach hacked me right off.

As well as being poorly written, the Petition is the work of people who lack basic comprehension skills. There is NO proposal along the lines of that described in the Petition. The Petition, like many car clubs, misinterprets the draft Regulation, which in any event is a long way off being enacted. There is NO need to panic. We discussed this last week, and remained calm, unlike the dweebs on most car websites.

I think that I would be more concerned about the increasing amount of ethanol that is being added to petrol nowadays, it doesnt do older cars fuel pumps and injection systems a lot of good
